Having been to Cancun several times a year since 2001 I have always found Liberty Travel to be amongst the higher priced travel companies out there!! I have used Vonwoo.com travel for my last several trips without any problem! My personal travel agent there is Linda Meara. We will be heading back down in 36 days and she emailed me in regards to a Playa Del Carmen trip we would like to take in December yesterday. We’re currently deciding between Bermuda and Sandals Grande Antigua….. We were set on Bermuda, but now are leaning towards Antigua 
I’ve gone to the Sandals website but there are just SO many different options for rooms and I want to be sure we book a good one.
Has anyone else used a travel agent for their honeymoon?
Does it cost money to use one?

look online on the sandals website and when you click on the rooms it tells you about them. they are all nice it just depends on what you want. price it online. THEN go to your local travel agency and talk to them. see which gets you the better price. sometimes its the travel agency and they can also get you free upgrades etc. by knowing people. if you do book it yourself tell everyone (lady at the ticket desk, rental car people, flight attendant, EVERYONE YOU TALK TO) that it is your honeymoon and you may score upgrades on your own

My wife and I are considering spending some time in Portugal in January/February 2010 traveling by ourselves with a rented car. We do not speak the language. My wife is concerned about safety issues. What is your advice?

As long as you heed the same safety precautions you would in any place you might visit at home, you should be fine. It helps to avoid looking like American tourists (the baseball caps and fanny packs stay home! The latter are only thief magnets anyway). Unless you are familiar with driving abroad, particularly in Portugal, I wouldn’t bother renting a car and would buy a railpass. Visit www.raileurope.com to learn about the many railpasses available. Trains serve towns large and small, plus you don’t need to put gas in them (which is four times as expensive in Europe as it is in the U.S.), you don’t need to park them (and pay through the nose to do so in larger towns), you don’t need to decipher foreign-language traffic signs and symbols, and you don’t need to be paranoid about someone breaking into your train (even when you’re smart and take all your valuables in at night).
