What is a good method and price for termite treatment?
1Question : What is a good method and price for termite treatment?
My house has a few small dirt evidences that i have an infestation. I caught it early so there is no damage to the house. I have had a few pest control people come out to look. Their prices and treatment methods were pretty different. I am just wondering if anyone has had experience with this and what you think is the best treatment and a fair price. thank you!

it depends on your house of course. I only have timber in the roof so I sprayed that with Xylophene and will do it again after 5 years. The main beams had already been drilled injected. If you have timber frame, walls etc then you need to use someone who has a license and offers return visits and a guarantee.
I too had different people suggesting different methods, it suggests that none of them really know the answer, which is worrying!
What is the best method of termite treatment.?
1Question : What is the best method of termite treatment.?
I do not want messy spraying of pesticide in the roof. I also want to avoid any drilling on the floor for pesticide to be injected in. Is there an effective method of eradicating termites and also protecting from further invasion. What do you suggest? I was told baiting and lacing the termite with pesticide an effective method. Does this method take care of all types of termites including dry and wet ones.

Any advice for a first time home buyer regarding termite treatment and inspections?
7Question : Any advice for a first time home buyer regarding termite treatment and inspections?
I have found a home that I really like which is in my price range, however, the house has been treated for termites within the last 6 months. The traps will remain in place and the termite coverage is good for another 6 months. I am unsure if this will be a wise investment. Does anyone have any experience with a similar situation?

Termites can really ruin the wood in a house. I would shop around. You could get a periodic termite check up. . . Just a thought.

0Question : What are laws about termites / termite damage when you are a renter at an apartment complex?
Over 2 months ago I came home to a swarm of termites in my apartment. The owner is aware but has yet to treat or survery the paper thin walls in my apartment. Not to mention now I have wood ants coming out of just about every crack in every wall and the drain in my tub/sink. I have told her not once but twice that something needs to be done and nothing yet. How long do I wait?

The termite swarms will be done soon and it won’t happen again until next year. And the damage they are doing to the property is the owner’s problem.
As for the ants, is there a reason you think they are “wood ants?” From what you describe I’m betting they are odorous house ants. And they are not coming up from the drain. They are going down to the drain to drink and you see them coming back up.
In my city it is the law that the owner has to pay for the control of pests if that pest is in more than one of the units. So, talk with your neighbors and band together to get the owner to take responsibility.
How many years after termite treatment can I plant a kitchen garden?
0Question : How many years after termite treatment can I plant a kitchen garden?
The soil around the foundation of my home was treated for termites in 2004, before I moved in. I want to plant herbs and vegetables but I heard some treatments take up to 10 years to break down in the soil. Should I keep my garden far away from the house, or is it safe to use the sunny area next to the back wall?

You can do it right now, but should keep your garden far from the house. 6 feet or 2 metres is good. The water you add to the soil will be attractive to termites, so the further the better (but not so far you can’t nip out for a herb). If this doesn’t work, grow your garden in raised tubs that you can see underneath.
Most perimeter sprays aren’t much good after 5 years, but it is best to leave them be. See: http://drdons.net/how-do-we-keep-termites-garden-away-eating-house
