Why does grime collect under my soap jug on the bathtub surface?
1Question : Why does grime collect under my soap jug on the bathtub surface?
I keep a 4l (gallon) jug of soap on the bathtub edge in the corner opposite the shower curtain. Every few days I lift it up to see brown grime collected where the jug touches the surface.
Why does this happen? I notice this with any bottle/thing that sits on the surface. What is actually going there?

I am told to buy a firm latex mattress and use a wool topper. What is wool like to sleep on?
Is it soft or Itchy?
Does it make you really hot?
Should the wool topper be encased in a hypoallergenic, zippered cover?
Is anyone familiar with the mattresses from www.savvyrest.com ? They make a 9″ latex mattress. This seems my best choice as I have an antique bed that requires an obscure dimension.

One thing I can tell you is this:
Don’t get a wool topper; it is itchy, and makes you pretty hot, and if you’re sweaty, you will feel extra icky on the wool.

Need to put down some kind of non skid or skid safe surface for the dog to go up and down hardwood indoor stairs. I don’t want to stain or paint the stairs. Also don’t want to use rug treads. Does anyone know of a clear tread? Or the best way to do this using Polyurethane or Polycrilic? Will this additive to the mixture work for dogs? Thanks!

i know you don`t fancy carpet but you can get 1/2 moon shaped pie aces,i have seen non slip textured strips with a peel off backing.
they were self adhesive and quite modern, but that was a property in Germany.
i have trained this dog not to go up and down the stairs , other types of finish will still be slippy on the steps.

The paint or glaze (not sure what it is or how to tell the difference) is cracking in my bathtub. There also appears to be a rust stain separate from the crack in the paint itself. Any suggestions on how to repair it?

there are kits to fix the cracks etc but they do not work better to let the pros resurface the tub
