Ceiling fan slows to a stop and then vice versa??
Well, just bought a new ceiling fan. Nice, big, too! Not a cheapo, either! Follow the instructions for assembly and installation of a “T”. It is on and it ran like a gem! Quiet, worked full air circulation, and all three speeds, great! Then, an hour ago I was sitting under the fan, and he began slowly. Finally, it just came to a complete stop, then it’s vice versa! He started at the other extreme, only much slower than it was before. I changed the direction switch in the opposite direction, and gradually as it was before only now slowly SUPER. The engine purrs, but the fan makes one revolution per seconde.Est it pursued the matter? (Kidding, of course) But it’s really a common thing? What could be causing this? A bad fan? Bad power? Why should it backed down on its own? Reply

I think that maybe the quality of the blankets is the reason that they “shed.” But is there any way to treat or seal a blanket so that the down doesnt release?
The blanket itself is a thick lavender silk with beautiful floral stitching to hold in down as well as box stitched. I really like the look and feel of the silk, so it there any way to “treat” or “seal” it with out using a duvet cover or coverslip? Do launderers have anything maybe scotchguard?

You’re right; it is probably the quality of the fabric that’s causing the problem. Down needs a really high thread count and tight to weave to keep the feathers inside. Try spraying with a good waterproofing product to make the fabric less permeable. If practicable, buy a protector cover (same idea as a pillow protector) to reduce the wear and tear on the blanket.

Use what is called butterfly type pillow which has good support for the neck. Or put a small wooden plank under the normal pillow to provide a firm support.

First make sure that the screws are put on tight….If it still squeaks, i suggest you get new ones because i had that same problem and the squeaking eventually stopped….

Has anybody tried this? 1 industrial floor fan with out the blades where the blade goes that part goes welded on a chevy or ford car alternator (13.8v). The alternator goes connected to1 big car battery (12 volts) with double terminals top and side terminals. The alternator goes connected to the side terminals of the battery. Then a 4000 watts inverter goes connected to the top terminals of the battery. The inverter has two power outlets. One is for the industrial floor fan that spins the alternater that charges the battery. After starting the inverter and then the floor fan to charge the battery then you can in the second outlet plug in a light bulb a tv and a dvd player.the problem is we need a gizmo like a voltage regulator so that the battery dont get over charged and blows up.. hmm i wonder how long the battery will last??? if i had the money i would try this and would have an alternative to gasoline generators. maybe go camping to the beach with it and have light and radio play dominos and best of all no noise… just the hum of the fan. hhhmmmm i looked all over youtube for something like this. hey if you find something like this on the net please send me the link ok? im going to send this to mythbusters now.. they have the funds for somthing like this.. lol
