If you keep the AC unit (the big one) outside, it reduces the noise.

Most of the modern ACs have silent “inside parts” and loud “outside parts”.

Question : Ventilation fan, Panasonic Whisper Ceiling 110 CFM (FV-11VQ3) or NuTone 110 CFM Ultra Silent Energy Star?
My architect choose Nutone for our house b/c it looks clean white and it’s venting through the side. But people are telling me that Panasonic is the best one in market.

Pricewise they are about the same and you can get them cheap at wwww.westsidewholesales.com And if you are in L.A. area, you can do the store pick up.

Panasonia Whisper 110CFM $ 98
Nutone 110CFM $ 107

Thank you for your opinions!
Noise level:
Panasonia = 0.8 sones
Nutone = 0.9 sones

 charityâ?? S mission to provide information about the dangers of CO poisoning and to support the victims and their families who have been killed or suffer long-term health effects of the problem remains, Lynna?? S main goal.

â?? I can speak from personal experience, â?? Says Lynn. Â â?? My children and I were chronically poisoned by carbon monoxide for more than a decade. We know only too well the devastating effects of this silent killer can have on family life. I think Associationâ with the support of Housing? S, a Council, building owners, architects, landlords, Registered Engineers, a PCT’s, Hospitals, Paramedic’s, GP’s, nurses, Health Visitors, Fire and Rescue, a local and national press, TV and Radioa we can eradicate this silent killer, the awareness of the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning and prevent others going through the same feelings of isolation, frustration, anger and sadness, that to have my family. ”

Known as the â?? Silence killerâ ????, CO can not be through a series of products of combustion produced burns well, including coal, wood or oil, as well as the more widely recognized gas. Â inhaled CO has no taste, color or smell, it can, depending on the levels that cause permanent damage to major organs and even within a few breaths to kill.

Knowledge is the key to preventing carbon monoxide poisoning. Â In most cases of poisoning cases, not victims unaware that was produced for CO or build-up in the air they breathed. Everyone needs to know about the dangers of CO and how they protect themselves from this silent killer. Older people, people with heart, lung problems, pregnant women, unborn babies and young children are particularly vulnerable to CO hazards.

CO poisoning must be taken seriously by the general public, health care (including screening of autopsies) and the industry. Carbon monoxide awareness should be a National Curriculum Key skills involved in order to avoid deaths in young men.

CO-Awarenessâ? S Four key steps to improve the publica? S CO-poisoning awareness

1) Put it in the curricula of schools. Competent children are doing can make things a lot more adults than any other sector of society. Â Â By teaching children about the dangers of the modern world we increase their potential to be safe and allow them to carry the message home to their families and friends.

2) improving the knowledge and equipment to the medical profession. Emergency and Accident & Emergency Department employees recognize all the benefits of non-invasive diagnostic equipment and the latest information for the rapid diagnosis on site. Â Aggressive multi-system presentation for which CO poisoning is the only tenable unifying * diagnosis can be confirmed immediately by the use of breathing or pulse CO-Oximetry analysis.

3) Create a resource of information and advice for lawyers and victims. Many victims do not receive proof of their

State or compensation for poisoning because they can not afford employ expensive legal and expert staff to gather evidence and fight the case.

4) Make sure that all of the installation and maintenance carried out by the relevant associations. Only one fuel (gas) requires the installer / service operational skills to work to prove safe and adequate training has been replaced by science-based modular short courses. Â This means that many installer / service agents in all three fuels lacks the experience to identify potential problem areas. Â Â All technicians and service personal know what they are doing and have the incentives to work need to do it right.

CO-Awareness is to raise awareness for doctors and others in a range of disciplines and a call to ongoing assistance and support to victims. Targeted groups to include building societies, Â landlordâ? to educate S, Council, developers, architects, registered engineers, one PCT’s, Hospitals, Paramedic’s, GP’s, nurses, Health visitors, emergency services, schools A and services young people about the dangers of carbon monoxide.

Silent Killers – Carbon Monoxide, Radon, and Mold

0

There are a few silent killers in apartments and houses that you may not be aware of. No, we aren’t talking about the smell of dirty feet that come from the apartment next to yours – the silent killer is gas and mold accumulations that occur in some apartments.

There are two deadly gasses that you are at risk for when renting an apartment: radon and carbon monoxide. Carbon monoxide is often referred to as the silent killer, because you can’t smell it or see it, which makes detecting it impossible to do without special equipment. Carbon monoxide can often leak from heaters, stoves, the exhaust pipe in a car and other appliances. If you are living in an airtight apartment that has been sealed up pretty well, and has no outside ventilation, you are going to be at greater risk of getting carbon monoxide poisoning. If you’ve just moved into a new apartment (or the heat has just been turned on for the season), and you experience symptoms such as a headache, dizziness, nausea or convulsions, you need to get to fresh air as soon as possible. There are carbon monoxide detectors that plug into an electrical socket, and will warn you if you are in danger.

The second deadly gas that is common in newer apartments and houses is radon. This is a natural gas that comes from the earth naturally, and is scentless and colorless. Unlike with carbon monoxide, radon poisoning doesn’t give you any symptoms that will tell you that you are being exposed. Instead, many people learn that they have been affected by radon when they develop lung cancer. There isn’t any type of simple device to warn you that you are at risk, so you need to have your apartment or home tested. There are relatively cheap kits you can buy, which after following the instructions, you mail into a lab to get tested. There are more expensive devices that you can plug into the wall and give you a numeric readout of the radon level. If you are renting, ask to see the test results from your landlord. A lot of states require radon testing for newer buildings, so you may be able to find out the results.

A final killer that may be lurking in your apartment is mold and mildew. Although this problem is probably not as serious as carbon monoxide or radon poisoning, it is more common and can be really a big problem. Mold and mildew can build up when there is too must moisture in the air, and is prevalent in climates that have humid air. You probably know that mold can be beneficial to your health, but the mold and mildew that occurs because of wet conditions is going to give you breathing problems. Mold and mildew that has started to grow will continue to grow until it is removed, and will get on anything and everything, including furniture, walls, clothing and carpeting and flooring. Some of these items can’t be cleaned properly, and need to be discarded, while other items can be cleaned with a bleach and water solution. Minor mold problems can be cleaned up by yourself, while major problems really need a professional to clean up (or a wrecking ball to knock down the whole building).

When renting an apartment, it is important to remember that you are going to be living there, and breathing in the apartment air every day. To keep yourself healthy, you should definitely make sure to consider the silent killers when renting your next apartment or house.
