i am going to install hardwood floors. i have been looking around at pre-finished white oak flooring. i cant find any that have the shine of un-finished floors that i have seen installed that the people have sanded and finished there selves. they always seem to look so much better than the flooring you can buy in the stores. is it possible to make pre-finished floors look like that by adding more polyurethane yourself after you install them. would it be possible to make them look like they are covered with glass like the other floors i have seen people finish themselves.

I think perhaps what you have seen prefinished may be laminated, whereas the unfinished are solid wood. I personally would not mess with the laminate, because the laminate is verrrry thin. 100 grit sandpaper could easily scratch through to the garbage below.

Question : How to clean & shine All-Clad stainless cookware?
We have a set of All-Clad stainless cookware. Over the years, a few of the pans have developed stubborn stains on the outside that make them look ugly. (We hang them overhead in our kitchen.)
I’ve tried many different cleansers and Brillo pads, I even took a dremel to the bottom of one. But nothing seems to remove what appears to be cooked on grease spots
Any suggestions on how to get them shiny again?
