Why not something shadecloth of this scrap lying in the shed, grow to hang your own pockets, these planters ideal way of growing things like petunias, strawberries and the like. They are also good for growing plants where space is at a premium. You can even set it and grow plants as in a normal pot.
What you need
ย ท section shadecloth 600mm (2ft) to 900mm (3ft) long, of about 300 (12in) to 450mm 18in () wide.
ย ท fine nylon thread or fishing line
ย ท A bag needle or something similar
ย ท scissors or a sharp knife
ย ท potting mix
ย ท suitable plants such as strawberries or petunias, etc. Some of the low-growing herbs or distribution work well.
ย ท Strong cord, string or fishing line to the bottom of the bag.
ย ท Extra strong string, cord, fishing line or a light wire for the top or hang the bag.
ย ท Strong fishing swivel (optional).
ย ท Bean Bag (polystyrene) beans (optional)
Instructions
Sew the shadecloth together in a long tube with the thread or fishing line.
Run the yarn / string / fishing line around the bottom of the bag and tie down like a shoelace, (This is an emptying of the bag easily when it’s time to repot the plant container to make).
Fill the bag loosely with potting soil mix. (You can mix mix a small amount of bean bag beans in the potting soil to the weight of the filled bags to facilitate the lifting and moving purposes.
Attach the fishing swivel into the top hanging twine / string, so that the bag such a way that different parts of the bag will get the sunlight as needed.
Decide where you in the placement of the plants around the bag. Cut a small hole in the shadecloth at these points.
Carefully open the price cuts and put the young plants.
Hang the bag and bucket of water plants gently, at this point you may find that you mix a little more of the potting soil in the top of the bag need to add.
Since the bag is made from shadecloth it is regular watering because the water is needed by the tissue faster than evaporation from a plastic hanging pot.
If the plants appear on one side of the bag does not grow, like those on the other side, then flip the bag to the weaker plants more sunlight.
