Question : Roller window blind treatments for floor to ceiling windows?
I am remodeling my house and installing a sunroom type conservatory in the back. It will have floor to ceiling windows that are low E, they block out the heat and laminate wood floors.
This is so we can see our trees and flowers in the back yard, but this will also be the media and game room for the family with a fireplace, screen for projector tv and video games and a pool table that will double as a dining table.

I would like to find a window treament that would be like bamboo roller blinds for all these large windows. I really want to be able to roll them all the way up all the time for the view asthetics and just be able to block all light with something like that when we want to use the projector or watch a movie. My fiance does electrical and wiring and cabling for a profession so he wants it high tech, but we want it in our budget.
We are NOT rich and will be have been doing most of the work on this house ourselves to stay in a budget.
Does any one have any sources for something like this?

Hello,

I would suggest a white linen roller…they are so light and see-thru yet perfect for sun block and privacy. Simply fabulous. And the cost is quite low. Please consider this as an alternate to bamboo and such as I am sure you won’t regret yr choice at the end of a lazy day.

Question : Which to get, Roller Shades or Faux Wood Blinds?
Last thing left in my new home. I like Faux wood blinds but I do not like white. Getting them in any other color will cost a couple hundred more. Over $ 550. Getting them in white will cost around $ 350. Roller shades will cost around $ 150.

So roller shades are cheaper but I have never had them in a home so I don’t know too much about them.

I think roller shades are easier to install and maintain? Any truth to that?

to say, I had all the possible roles of pasta -. The manual chrome type, one who does everything (mixes, extruded) and now this. I love it. I like my hands free to get out the dough into and not the manual roll change down in all directions. I am amazed at how thin I make the dough – thin as tissue paper. My only complaint, and I do it for the sake of completeness is that it took several batches of dough (the first was willing to sacrifice) to “cleanse” them out. I noticed what looked like all my dough on metal deposits, especially at the edges. It was very painful for me. I tried wiping the roller with a towel (for about an hour), I tried to rub it with olive oil and I tried to sprinkle with flour, all of which have helped but it was ridiculous how much time I had and how many batches of dough I got to lose (about four)! Overall, however, I am very happy, but I think they should expect to instructions in a statement to the effect that you should to see deposits and how they are clean, or it’s’ must ensure that it is clean before it!

Question : Does anyone know where I can find an inexpensive cordless roller shade to use my own fabric with?
The problem is it needs to be about 104″ and I can’t find one over about 96 inches.
Or would you know where I could find hardware that could be mounted from the top and allow for 2 inches of rolled material?
I welcome any suggestions.

Try Home Depot or something along those lines – they make custom shades but don’t usually charge as much as a decorator would.
Try JoAnn Fabrics or whatever fabric store is in your area – they have hardware for making shades. If they don’t have it on the shelf, ask if they can get the size you need.
I typed in a search for roller blinds and came up with several sites but not knowing the length you need, can’t direct you to what I found.

Question : What type of adhesive or tape product should I use to reconnect my fabric shade to it’s roller?
It is a Hunter Douglas full loop roller shade and the end that is adhered to the roller came off after 7 years and shade ended up on my floor last night.

I called Hunter Douglas and said it is proprietary which we all know is a crock….Adhesive is Adhesive albeit they differ by application.

Thanks for any help on this.
