We have a walk in shower stall and would like to replace this area with a small walk in bathtub? Has anyone replaced a shower stall with a walk in bathtub or is it possible to place a walk in tub in such a small area?

The first step is to research walk in tubs and find the installation dimensions. Most showers are 36 inches, but you should measure yours. The actual space you have to work with will be down to the studs, so include that in your measurement.
The next thing to consider will be plumbing. The faucet should be easy to modify for the new tub. The drain may be more of a problem. the current drain is probably at the center of the shower floor. However the drain in the tub may not work with that. There may be space under the tub to add plumbing connections. Otherwise, you may have to reposition the drain to work with the tub. If you have a concrete slab, this is a bigger project. If you have access to the floor under the tub, then you should be able to modify the drain fairly easily.

Question : How do I know replacing the lamp will solve my LCHD Hitachi TV problem?
The TV just stopped working abruptly. I assume that the lamp needs replacing, but at almost $ 300 I don’t want to spend it if there’s a chance it could have another problem. It’s only a few years old and was working perfectly. Any tips??

“Stopped working” can mean several things. You need to be more specific. Is the set totally dead? Do you have any visual indications on the cabinet, like a small light that tells you power is connected? Do you have audio? What exactly has stopped working?
If the set seems to have power and if you have good audio but a blank screen, look at the screen up close without bright lights in the the room. If the the backlight has failed, you might be able to see a faint dark picture. The liquid crystals are still forming the image, they’re just not being illuminated from behind. It’s like a liquid crystal digital watch with black numerals. If that’s what you see, then it’s probably the backlight lamp. If not, it’s something else, and you need to update your question with the details.

I live in an apartment in which we cannot replace fixtures n’ stuff. The lighting in my bathroom is hideous. It has a long metal panel on the wall above the mirror with three light bulbs screwed into it. CFL bulbs aren’t exactly pretty to look at. Is there something I could get to kind of cover the thing up with? I think it’s the silliest thing ever! Who want to be staring into three lightbulbs anyway?

Question : Does replacing the mattress in a sofa bed make it more comfortable?
I have a traditional sofa sleeper that is very uncomfortable. I have seen a number of mattress replacements on line that offer memory form, are part air mattress, or just claim to be better than a traditional mattress.
I am concerned that the bed is uncomfortable primarily because of the bed support and no matter how good a mattress I get it is still going to be uncomfortable.
Has anyone had experience replacing their sofa mattress? Did it help? What kind did you get?

A softer mattress will definitely help. Sleeper sofas never have been my favorite.

I’m just replacing an old vessel sink with a new one. It seems easy, but do I have to shut off the water supply? Looks like I could just undo the drain and pop the new sink on.

If it is the kind of sink that looks like a big glass bowl hooked onto a table and the fawcets are not connected to the sink, there shouldn’t be any need to mess with the water pipes. You might want to study the mode of attachment to the table/drain pipes, so you can get the necessary parts when you get the new sink. Also, measure the distance from the drain hole to the fawcets/spout so you don’t get a sink that is too big to fit in the existing space.
