I’m moving soon to this REALLY big AWESOME house and I’m so excited, well I’m probably moving. But anyway when I get there I’m going to get my own room (have shared a room with my sister for 6 years 
) and it’s going to be the GIANT loft! Anyway, I’m redoing my room and I need help looking for stuff for it. I’m painting it light blue and lime green and have sparkly blue curtains for the 1 window (we think there is a window) it’s pacific blue curtains. I have a white tall dressers and a white basket woven day bed. The floors are white wood. One wall of my room is going to be covered completely in posters and I am getting sushi shaped pillows for my room. If anyone has any websites they think sound like would have good decor for my room please answer. I want a new bedspread bookshelf, desk, side table, rug, and stuff to go on my walls. I’m really into Japanese anime and manga. THANKS!!! (btw I’m 13 and like all the peace stuff too)
If you actually read the question I know what kind of furniture I want and the colors but I’m looking for the bedspread I love and I want to know websites that have stuff I may like, I know what I’m doing with the rest of the stuff such as planning (mainly directed at Nurse Susan)

1] first, figure out room plan – number of windows, doors, measurements, etc. so you can plan where furniture goes
2] get new furniture [ bookshelf, desk, side or night table, comfy desk chair ] to match or go with current furniture ] Furniture costs most and lasts longest of all room decor
3] THEN [ very important ] pick out comforter/quilt/bedspread you LOVE
a] pick out any matching stuff [ shams, pillows, bedskirt, curtains, etc ]at same time
b] include your fav relaxing colors – say lime, sky, and silver
4] then you pick wall color[s] from the bedding – much easier to match paint to bedding than wall color to bedspread etc. – say lime and sky
5] pick second/third color for large and small accessories
a[ large: rug, desk and/or reading chair, throw for bed or chair - say sky
b] small: lamps/shades, ornaments,desk/dresser accessories, vase/flowers, candles/holders [ say silver, and lime or sky ]
6] all metals should match – say all silver [ chrome ]. gold [ brass], copper, or iron for lamps, candle holders, pic frames
7] don’t do TOO many themes in your room – and make it nice so you w ill still like it at 18, too
a] maybe sushi and anime, or sushi and manga?

Wall color? Should i do anything to the color of then furniture. It is already stained to golden oak. The comforter is white, pink, purple and has flowers. Small room.

Even modern homes sometimes have antiques. A few stong modern elements can go a long way to changing the overall feel, and some ideas would be a lot easier to implement than changing the furniture you have.
How about painting the wall behind your bed an accent color? An accent wall is a modern treatment, and you might consider something like a dark charcoal grey or a celedon (a very pale and toned down limey green)… look in modern design magazines for ideas on color.
And switching your comforter. Modern patterns tend to be HUGE flowers, geometric, or solid. It would cost you less than $ 100 to find a modern bedding set at Target or Ikea. Probably your current comforter is the main thing that dates your room, and even how you make it up might date it.
How about a modern lamp? Lamps are more than utilitarian, they are also like sculpture. Lamps can be expensive though.
Artwork. Fortunately this you can even make yourself. I often will use a design magazine for inspiration. You might get a good swatch of modern fabric and switch out the art in a frame you already have. In general for a modern look you will want to go LARGER with your artwork, or make a tight grouping of smaller pieces. Dotting the four walls at eye level with artwork tends to make a room look less modern.

Question : redo old butcher block countertops?
any ideas on this project..My countertops are old and scratched so bad..cant afford new…would painting them ruin the looks of them.?.i also have bar stools that need to be the same color to match this…my cabinets and table and chairs are pine

a-a–a-akkkk! don’t touch that butcher block it is priceless have you taken leave of your senses…!!!
simply clean it up some with soap and water. butcher block tops were intended to be utilitarian, and a little beat up is good and alot beat up isn’t a bad thing either. the only thing that needs to change in that kitchen is the perception of the viewer.
