When did you start putting blankets back in the crib with your baby?

Question : When did you start putting blankets back in the crib with your baby?
I stopped putting my son to bed with a blanket when he was about four months old and started moving around in his crib. I know they say not to have any pillows or blankets in with the baby, but when is it okay to start putting them back in? He is almost nine months old. Is that still too young?

I need some serious help putting curtains up!?

Question : I need some serious help putting curtains up!?
I have a VERY large sliding door in my apartment. It is 3 paned, about 105 in. long. The window is covered now by awful vertical slatted blinds (I have ALWAYS hated them) and my apt. management has told me I am not allowed to remove them. I can put curtains up OVER them, but that’s it. The issue is finding a curtain rod that will work WITH these blinds. The hardware and blinds (all of it together) sticks out about 5 inches from the wall (and this is w/o the blinds vented open). All of the curtain rods/brackets I can find are too “shallow” to be able to go over top of this. I don’t want there to be a buldge at the top of my curtains where the blinds are jutting out, once they’re up. I have looked everywhere and I just can’t find ANYTHING. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Also, once I put the rod up above the blinds, it’s going to make the length of curtains necessary over 96” (which of course, is the longest curtains I can find, other than custom). So if you know of a place that sells extra long curtains, that’d be great also. If the curtain rods you know of aren’t long enough (like I said, over 105”) that’s ok, because I assume I could just use 2 or 3 of them. The main thing is that the brackets/hardware allow the curtain to hang at least 5” out from the wall. Thanks!

All wood flooring will scratch if you put enough force behind it. We installed Brazilian Cheery wood floors the are suppose to be one of the hardest woods. Our 50 lb. dog can scratch this floor. we need to trim his claws down.

Question : What would you charge for taking down and putting up shelving at a daycare?
For two hours of work taking down Closet Maid wire shelving (a dozen or so shelves that screw and anchor into the walls), and then an hour’s work putting 3 or 4 of those shelves up in the new location, how much would be appropriate to bill the daycare owner?

$ 30 would get you about $ 10 per hour. The work isn’t worth a lot of money but you have commute time for a short period of work time. If you charge much more they will do it themselves.

Do you think putting something on top of a forced air heating vent is a fire hazard?

Question : Do you think putting something on top of a forced air heating vent is a fire hazard?
We live in a new house with forced air heat. My husband insisted recently that a box fan that I set on top of the vent was a major fire hazard. I don’t think this is possible since I can touch the vent when the heat is on and it’s just warm to the touch. What do you think?

I think your husband is going a bit far calling it a “major fir hazard” but I wouldn’t leave anything on top of a heater vent when I’m running heat.

I am pretty handy i am wondering the degree of difficulty in putting in a new wall mount bathroom sink?

Question : I am pretty handy i am wondering the degree of difficulty in putting in a new wall mount bathroom sink?
I have an old sink where the hot/cold come out the front of the sink, and i am replacing with a sink that has them coming out of the top. The other thing i need to do is replace the entire supply line. Will it be difficult getting routing the sink to go out top?. It’s a small 10 inch sink for a tiny bathroom.
by supply line i mean only the pipe threads and the tube that runs up to the faucet.

Has anybody heard of putting outdoor christmas lights in their shower/tub?

Question : Has anybody heard of putting outdoor christmas lights in their shower/tub?
I know somebody who has them ‘roped’ around the inside of the shower/tub for lighting. The bathroom is small and they have a darker color curtain, so there is no lighting inside the tub. Isn’t this dangerous even though they are outdoor, waterproof lights. They have the cord plugged into an outlet that is higher so the water doesn’t drip down it and into the outlet. Has anybody heard of this before and is it really safe? Thanks
I don’t plan on doing it for myself, it was just a question. Besides, aren’t the outdoor lights supposed to be waterproof to handle rain, snow, sleet, etc.? So if they did fall in the tub and submerge, you’d think it wouldn’t do anything.

It could be dangerous if the string of lights were to fall and end up submerged in water.
