Hampton History Museum, in picturesque downtown Hampton, Virginia is currently exhibiting Cheyne-Photography A Warm & Vital Record Time and Place in honor of Hampton? 400. Birthday. Stressing the photo of C. Ethelbert Cheyne and son, we? Happier? Cheyne (1894 from 1960), this showcase highly anticipated retrospective of works by two of the Hamptons? S-premiere recording of scenes and people downtown.
In 1894, Christoph Ethelbert Cheyne, portraitist trained to Hampton, Virginia, Cincinnati, Ohio. It is in Hampton, where he began using photography in the heart and the character of the population recorded. After Ethel Berta? Death in 1943, W.E. â? Happier? Cheyne was about his father? Bellarmine Art Museum opens to the public at Fairfield University on 25 October

With the long-awaited opening of the Public Art Museum for 25 Bellarmine Begin in October, introduced Fairfield University, a permanent sanctuary for his collection of art of cultivation and future exhibitions. Opening times are Monday to Friday from 10.00 to 03.00 clock, during term time.

A dollar renovation is planned to transform the ACDV? s Arena was built in 1975th Another donation of one million dollars to renovate the auditorium at the Civic Centre, to be completed in November 2010. George Nelson (1908-1986) was one of the most important American designers of the 20th century. In 2008 George Nelson would have been 100 years old. In recognition of this anniversary, the Vitra Design Museum presents the first comprehensive retrospective on his work: George Nelson. Architect, Writer, Designer, Teacher. In this video, curator Jochen Eisenbrand talks about the person and the work of George Nelson, his many talents and the influence on the American design in the latter half of the 20th century, and the connection Herman Miller, Charles Eames and Vitra. George Nelsons office produced numerous furnishings and interior designs that became modern classics, including the Coconut Chair (1956), the Marshmallow Sofa (1956), the Ball Clock (1947) and the Bubble Lamps (1952 onwards). On display at the exhibition are Nelsons concepts for the modern single-family home during the 1940s and 1950s; his corporate design work for Herman Miller and other firms; his work as innovator in the development of the modern office; his exhibition design (for example for the American National Exhibition in Moscow in 1959); and an overview of the numerous articles and books and some of his films and slide presentations. 0The famous â?? Mark Twain House and museum? was where famous American humorist and author Mark Twain lived 1874-1891. Because of the bad financial investments, Mark Twain and his family moved to Europe in 1891. In 1900, when he returned to Connecticut, he lived in Redding. It was here, when Mark Twain died in 1910. Mark Twain House and Museum in Hartford, Connecticut, USA.
Mark Twain home was used as a residence, library and school. In 1962 the house was declared? National Historic Landmarkâ? and since 1974 has been renovated and extended to show the life and work of Mark Twain.
The house has 19 rooms and the Victorian architectural style is Gothic. This house is also where Mark Twain’s masterpiece The Golden Age, Life on the Mississippi, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, A Tramp Abroad, The Prince and the Pauper, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s said Court, and Huckleberry Finn.
The design for Mark Twain was done by the architect Edward Tuckerman Potter. Constructed on third 5 acres, had the house seven bedrooms and bathrooms, conservatory and carriage house full of plants. The bay window extends all the way up to tower, which then form with porches were exceeded. Thus, the Mark Twain and guests could have a look at pastoral area of Hartford. The legend says that the Mark Twain House was designed to look like a riverboat, as he had penetrated a typical gable roof, bay window to enter and asymmetrical Victorian Gothic style.
The top floor had the billiard room and private study. This was Twain wrote late into the night. It is said that this room was off limits to anyone except for the house cleaner. This room was also used to entertain male guests with brandy and cigar.
Mark Twain children also had a separate area for themselves. This area had a classroom, play room and nursery. The daughters were looked after by Mrs Clemens in the second floor. Twain, together with his children played in the conservatory. It is said that Twain, pretending to be an elephant.
Twain loved life in his home. One of the reasons was that many of his friend-authors lived in the neighborhood that is Isabella and Harriet Beecher Stowe Beechar Hooker.
