After struggling through a family tragedy in his life, Dave Matthews continued success and compassion in everything he does see.

Matthews family may have died sanctions in 1977 when his father from lung cancer. The devastation was inspired to write the words “Carpe Diem”. In 1994, Matthews was older sister of her husband who murdered then committed suicide. Dave Matthews was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. His family emigrated to New York, was two years old when Matthews. The family then moved to Cambridge, England in 1974, returned to South Africa in 1977. Matthews returned to New York in 1986 where he worked at IBM for a short period of time before later moving to Charlottesville, Virginia. It was in Charlottesville that he became part of the local music community. In 1991 he joined the Dave Matthews Band. With him was Boyd Tinsley, LeRoi Moore, Carter Beauford, Stefan Lessard and Peter Griesar. first exhibition of the group was 20 April 1991 Earth Day Festival in Charlottesville.

The Dave Matthews Band continues to release successful albums, including Live in Chicago 19/12/1998, Live at Folsom Field, Boulder, CO, Central Park Concert The Gorge The weekend-end at the rock, live from Radio City Live at Piedmont Park, Live at Mile High Music Festival in Europe in 2009 and live in Las Vegas.

In addition to the success of the band released, Matthews his first solo album Some Devil in 2003. The single “Gravedigger” was certified platinum, and Matthews won a Grammy Award in 2004. Meanwhile, Matthews has produced with other musicians, and appears as guest vocalist on various albums and in concert. Matthews also played with Emmylou Harris, where the two duet on “My Antonia” for his 2000 album Red Dirt Girl.

Despite the personal tragedy of Matthew, he was a successful musician and philanthropist.
