and after a lot of research of how to do it I’ve got a decent idea for most everything I’ll need to do. But I can’t decide on the material for the back. I’m trying to cut down costs and I like a solid structure rather than using material like tiles which look ok but I feel a more solid or stone look looks a lot better.
Any type of material you can list that you think may work would be great. Help me think outside the box!!! I’m by no means an expert in the subject so any ideas would be great.

I’ve also heard about Material Connexion, but the subscription is pretty pricey. I’m looking primarily for commercial grade materials. Does anyone know of any similar websites? TIA

Get yourself signed up to go to the industry tradeshows. You can probably get in free as a student and you can network and see the new stuff. They have home shows, interior design shows, home and construction shows, etc. Your instructors or the recognized clubs that deal with your major (professional/career organizations) would probably know some contacts for you to get in touch with.
