My boyfriend and I have been sharing a bed for 6 years now, and we both hated our mattress. So recently we decided to invest in a good mattress… we were really interested in Tempur-pedic, but decided against it. We ended up getting a luxurious ‘Aireloom’ mattress that is supposed to be supportive, but also has a huge fluffy pillow top (with latex foam, I think).
Now, I have no problem with the mattress… I love feeling enveloped by it, but my boyfriend has been suffering from bad back pain. He has sciatica (pressure on the sciatic nerve resulting in chronic back and leg pain… not usually a permanent condition).
We are nearing the deadline for exchanging it, and I was wondering if anyone has experienced a similar issue, and if so, is there a particular mattress that has worked well for you? I prefer a soft mattress… he prefers firm.
I should also mention that we can’t get a ‘Sleep Number’ because they are not carried at Sit and Sleep (we have to exchange for something there)

I also have the same problem but have not yet resolved it. There is a new research that suggests that contrary to popular belief, a firm mattress may not necessarily be best for the back. Although experts said it doesn’t mean everyone would benefit from a medium mattress, and that trial and error is still the best way to choose.

I never recommend a firm mattress (although we do have them on sale) because your body does not need a firm surface to sleep on. It will eventually hurt your back, neck, etc.
Someone here mentioned a “7-zoned” area mattress and I have to say that he is correct. Different parts of your body need different support. Your back (between your shoulder and your hips) needs the most support than your neck, head, or legs.
3-zoned mattresses are great because they use different types of foams to address different areas of your body. They will use a firmer foam in the center of the mattress to address your back and two different foams on the top and bottom of the mattress for your head and legs.
If you can’t find a 3-zoned mattress, then buy a plush mattress because its softness will allow the foam to comfort to your body. The back will get the support needed while the softness will be easy on your neck and legs.
Pillow top mattresses are great if you are looking for lots of softness. They may also provide great support for your back, but if you are someone suffering with back problems I suggest finding a thinner pillow top so you can have great support with some comfort.
Remember back problems = weak back. Get the support your back needs. Do NOT buy foam mattresses (like tempurpedic). Tempurpedic is great but does not give enough support your back needs. A spring-mattress will be much better!

If there is water in the wall , then you have a plumbing problem.
If there is water on the floor, could be plumbing, could be seals on the grout.
One is plumbing one is General Contractor stuff.

Question : i have a floor length blinds cleaning issue.?
i have floor length horizontal blinds that cover a slinding glass door. i also have a cat and a dog that constantly stick thier faces thru the blinds, and a husband and a 7 yr old son that grab the blinds to walk thru them instead of just opening them. they are dirty from top to bottom with yuck. i was wondering if anyone had any easy clean sugestions without taken them completly down to spray them off?

I have had similar problems with kids and pets, there is really no easy way, cleaning blinds is a crappy job. Here is what I did to brighten them up. Stick newspaper under the blinds to catch drips and dirt. Get a bucket of warm water. Close blinds and spray the blinds with a degreaser/cleaner (409, simple green etc) only do 5-10 at a time. Get a cloth and wipe straight down top to bottom. While you are cleaning some the cleaner is loosening the dirt on others. It takes me about 10-15 min. Then beat kid or dog next time they touch your freshly cleaned blinds (just kidding

My boyfriend wants me to fix his shower. The problem is that even when the faucet knob is in the down position and all water should be coming out of the faucet, some water comes up and out the shower head instead. He thought he could fix it by replacing the faucet itself, but that didn’t change anything. I’m not even sure where to start.

It sounds like the actual Shower Valve is shot and needs replacing. Its about a $ 100 for the part. But replacing it is difficult and requires you to saw through some dry-wall.
Definitely Get a plumber.

Issues with Model number MFI2568AES After owning without issue for just over a year our wonderful Maytag goes nuts. Update* This is the reason to get an extended warrenty. Maytag sent out a repairman to fix it, he showed up with the right part #16027069 to replace the High Voltage Board, swapped it out and we are back in service. I will keep this up, just incase someone needs to know what “may” be wrong, I must say this is still the best fridge I have owned!

I have a funny little cape cod house. Master Bath & Master bedroom along with another bedroom on first floor. In between the two bedrooms, off of the living room, is a strange ‘closet’ (maybe 10 x 12 room without any windows). I have had my office in there and its just not a nice area and I’m looking for ideas. I have a loft that serves as a playroom, which I’m going to move my desk/CPU at. I was thinking about making it a craft room or a place for my workout equipment. I just don’t know. Its such a dreary weird room, but I don’t want the space to go to waste. . . . .
