Question : infocus x1a projector doesnt start?
when i try starting the projector, the power light etc starts normally but the lamp doesnt start, and there comes a small chrr chrr sound..i waited for sometime removed the cables and fit them again and it started normally..now after 24 hours i tried to restart the projector and it again gave the same kind of noise initially and now its not starting at all. Everytime the lamp tries to start and makes the noise but the lamp doesnt start. please help
Is there are way to replace or repair the ballast? It seemed like some minor connection problem as I said after making that noise it worked after i removed the cable and replugged them and tapped the air vents. but as i said today its not working. It keeps on making that lamp starting noise but the lamp doesnt start. I checked the lamp it seems perfectly fine.

It could be the ballast. The most likely parts to go are the lamp or the ballast (which is necessary to get the lamp to start). See the questions and answers at the link.

I’m trying to find a replacement lamp for my projector… I found some but they want $ 300+ for it. Just wondering if there’s a place I can get one cheaper than that.

That’s about the BEST Price you are going to find….

The ones to steer clear of are the Half-Price websites…you buy one and during the warranty they Pro-rate the usage.

You pay them some and get a new lamp, and pay them some and get a new lamp, and pay them some and get a new lamp and pay them some and get a new lamp and pay…..

You could save more by buying the original lamp….

How can I connect my laptop to a Infocus Projector?

Question : How can I connect my laptop to a Infocus Projector?
I have a Toshiba Satellite runing windoes xp. I brought a 15 point VGA cable today. i plugged it in to the projector and laptop but nothing come up. Is there another cable I can buy.

Question : Infocus X1a projector problem?
The imge from my Infocus X1a Prjector has just develpoed a dark greenish-yello line on the left side of the projected image. It takes up about 1/8 of the image. I changed the lamp abou 6 months ago and have about 300 hours on the new lamp.

This is an odd problem that does not seem to fit DLP chiip failure or optical/mechanical failure. It seems that it might be a problem in the driving circuitry. However, the only thing you can do is to have it serviced. That unit is no longer manufactured, and it may be cheaper to get a new projector. Get an estimate for service. If you do get a new projector, try to find one that uses the same lamp, so you can keep the one you just bought as a replacement.

Question : Infocus HD Projector: ScreenPlay 5000 won’t light up?
I recently replaced the bulb because my previous had gone out. I put in the bulb following the instructions although I struggled to reset the lamp timer. Now the projector will not light up at all. I need help to get this projecting again. Please if you have any ideas about how to reset the lamp timer without using the onscreen menu or any ideas at all for me please pass them along. Thanks.

It sounds like it is a lamp ballast or power supply issue. Contact InFocus to set up a repair.

Projectors all get very hot – have you checked the fans to make sure they’re spinning? No dust or anything??
