We need to attach a bamboo curtain onto a low side of our ceiling, which is made of decorative material, and will not withstand nail/hammering. can I glue a bamboo curtain onto it? Is a bamboo curtain generally heavy? Also, best websites for bamboo curtains? I also assume that they block a good amount of light. Correct? Thanks

Home depot & Lowes sell overhead garage organizers. Purchase a stud finder there also to locate studs in garage ceeiling.

Question : What is best material and best way to hang heating/air conditioning ducts in attic of home?
Noticed that the air conditioning duct work has been torn, punctured by nails in attic. What is best materials/application to prevent this from happenning? Is 6 to 8′ on center up to code for hangers? The ductwork is 4″ to 8″ plastic with wire inside. I have replaced a few with the new foil ducts and I want to ensure that things don’t get torn up again.

Plastic strap , comes in a roll of 50 feet or more , strap it around your ducts , nail to truss, if any of the duct has small holes use the aluminum tape , not duct tape, duct tape will turn loose when it gets hot.

Question : How low should a ceiling fan hang?
I have a fan that has a 21/2 ft. long rod. I am updating by painting the brass with hammer paint. But I think the modern style is to have the fan closer to the ceiling. I have a 9 foot ceiling. How long should the rod be for modern style?

Question : How would you either glue material onto vertical blinds or hang sheers off their clips? ?
I bought some white vertical blinds awhile back but after they were up for awhile I didn’t like them as much.
I’m wondering if I could somehow glue some material onto the slats themselves or possibly hang sheers/light material off the blind clips after removing the blinds.
Has anyone done either of these things before?
Any suggestions as to which would be best? I don’t want to buy new blinds!

I don’t think either one would work very well. I’d give up on the blinds if I really didn’t like them and just get some other window covering.

I am trying to decorate my living room, specifically I am looking to add window treatments. I have wood blinds (medium oak color) and wood trim (same color). Everything else in the room is really neautral – all khaki. I am wondering what kinds of things I can do for window treatments. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We’ve done all kinds of things working around wood blinds. You can install cornice boxes above the window. You can put valances above them. You can do a combination of cornices with draperies at the side or valances with draperies at the sides. We’ve used plaster and metal pediments above the windows in very formal settings. We’ve had balloon or roman shades installed halfway across windows to give texture and dimension, too. Really, your options are endless. Check out the HGTV and DIY sites for even more ideas.

i just moved in a house with a steam shower and i wanted to know if this would work cus sometimes the washer and dryers ruin my clothes. i thought this would steam clean them and would i still need to use soap??????

The steam will clear out any wrinkles and most odors to freshen them.
But, to get any dirt or stains you need to use the washer.
