I work as a bridal consultant in a bridal store, and see planners all the time, and know several. Most planners operate a few different ways. What they charge is really based on what you want them to do. If all you want is someone there on the day of the wedding, accepting deliveries of flowers, linen rentals, cake, caterers, etc., that will be one charge. Most planners do offer some form of a “day of” service that they will charge a flat rate for. But, if you’re wanting a planner to meet with you, help you coordinate your look with bridesmaids, go to dress fittings, cake tastings, caterer tastings, coordinate flowers, lighting, dj, etc., then most planners will charge a percentage of the total amount spent on the wedding. The amounts they charge are also based on the amount of experience they have in the industry, but that’s not saying that someone who’s done this for years and years is going to be cost prohibitive. Location also pays a key role in what they charge–a planner in NYC is going to cost a heck of alot more for the same exact service than one in Laramie, WY.

What I would do if I were you is look at a few planners. Attend bridal shows/fairs, they’re always at those. Ask around with friends who have recently married, if they used someone and if so, who. Do a yellow pages search for wedding planners/coordinators and see what turns up. I would expect most decent planners would start their fees at around $ 1000 in most parts of the country, but maybe not quite that much. It really depends.

Good luck!

How do you generally operate an apartment security alarm?

Question : How do you generally operate an apartment security alarm?
If you’ve already programmed in a master code…

What do you do?

Is it on?

What do you do before leaving the apartment, when you return, and while you are there?

It has a “Stay”, “Chime”, “Exit”, “Bypass” and “Cancel” buttons. Right now it’s on the “Chime” buttton.

Thanks.

I can’t find anything helpful on the internet.

Chime Feature: An option that allows the keypad to sound a ding-dong
whenever an entry/exit door is opened.

Stay/Exit: An option that allows you to turn on (ARM) the security system by
pressing either the [STAY] or [EXIT] key on the keypad control (for ARMING
only) as programmed by the installing company.

Bypass: is to allow you to take out something in the alarm loop…Like a bathroom window. The bypass light is “on” when any zone in the keypad’s partition is bypassed.
The zone(s) that is bypassed will also be illuminated. If the bypass light is “off”,
no zones are bypassed. ( see below)

Cancel: If your alarm trips and it;s a false alarm you can hit cancel.

Ok stay…and exit… If you are leaving the apartment press exit…you only have so much time to get out of there before triggering the alarm.

Stay: When you are home and want the windows and doors secure press stay. It will deactivate the motion sensors but keep the perimeter safe.

There is also a way to bypass certain areas with the motion detectors at night. So you can get up and go to the fridge or bathroom. You need to talk to the alarm company though as that will be specific relay numbers.

It depends. I’ve had Home Depot give reasonable installation rates. But you can and should haggle for a better price. In both cases, you are paying both over-head and retail costs for the materials and the labor management.

The cheapest way is to find the best price for the materials and then find a person or two who can do the work and who are recommended by someone you know. Then they can help you shop for the best deal for the materials. Either way, the more effort you can put into it the less you’ll pay.

I’d say everybody should have at least 2 or 3 napkins. Things get really messy at weddings.
