Can I use a fluorescent lamp with a fixed ceiling fan / light remote control?
I am installing a ceiling fan Hampton Bay in my garage. The fan has a light kit and comes with a wireless remote control that operates the fan and light. I intend to remove the light kit and attached the wires from the ceiling, neon lights I want to install it near the fan. Since I can not so easily wire a wall switch to operate the new light, without too much bite holes in the drywall, I would use the remote control to operate the light. The remote says: “incandescent.” But if the controller does not return to the light on / off, no dimming, there is no reason why it would not work with fluorescent lighting? Could it damage the controller, or cause other problems? Thanks in advance for trying to see your aide.Réponse

Question : Can someone offer their experience, bad or good with patio awnings, retractable cloth or fixed aluminum?
I currently have a wood awning covering my 12×16 patio and I’m stuck trying to decide whether to repair it, installing a new roof and updating the wood to pressure treated wood. There is some water damage and I have problems with carpenter bees nesting in the wood.
Which solution would be best, update and fix the existing wood awning, purchase a cloth retractable or purchase an aluminum awning? The difference in cost for each is within a couple of hundred dollars.

I prefer the cloth type, with good care they last a long time, are quiet in rain storms, and to me are better looking and offer a softer look, and are available in many colors. It may be cheaper for you to repair your current one but if you are looking for a new look I’d get the canvas cloth awning, this would eliminate the bees also

As long as it stays harmless out the way of moving parts or does not block intake vents it is o.k.
If your unsure, have a HVAC tech open up the furnace to make sure there is no danger.
Or if you want to buy a Service Manual to show how to take the furnace apart and check your self.

I have several Casablanca fans and 3 Stealth., what happens is the flywheel broke and the blade assembly {where you mount the blades} has dropped resting on the lamp pan case. This can be replace, don’t worry, the flywheel only cost $ 20.00 and if you have patience and the time you can replace it yourself.
First remove the blades and the entire fan from the ceiling so you can do the work on the floor. Open the lamp case and remove the nut that holds the light pan, {you may need to cut the halogen light holder to remove the nut and washer} so you can have access to the blade assembly plate, unscrew and remove each blade holder {5-in total} then remove the plate to have access to the flywheel.
To remove it, use a HEX key to unlocked the broken flywheel and replace it with a new one, then re-assemble the parts again.
