Hi all. I installed a ceiling fan with light. I have the two wires from the fan and light together, and then the hot-wired cable to the wire on the ceiling. The other wire from the fan is wired to the ceiling nuetral wire. No light or ventilation work. I took it and hard wired the same configuration with an extension cord I had cut and then put it into a socket and both fan and light work. I used a tester (tine with light) to test the wires in the ceiling and they show power, but when I plugged the fan back to either the light or fan work. . Please anyone have any suggestions. .
