Hands down the best restaurant experience we had while we were in Bali, was to Bengil Bebek, or better known as the Dirty Duck Diner in Ubud Bali city. Tourists from all over the world have stepped in, cracked some bones duck, and vowed then that 19 years old restaurant, located in Padang Tegal, Ubud in the heart of the city.

If you are wondering what is going on with the unappetizing name of “Dirty Duck” are for a restaurant, the origin of the moniker actually in 1990, when the place was built dated. While pressing to guess a few ideas, brainstorming and all, a flock of ducks (no price, how hygienic they were!) There are a few dishes that need, one day ordered in advance. And the court that makes Dirty Duck Diner’s, the crispy duck came in a surprisingly small part, only a half duck marinated with spices and fried to crispy perfection. Very crispy, yes, to the point of edible bones. But note, only the small bones to the enjoyment. Do not go for the older ones, because you can only pave the way to the dental clinic. Served with fried potatoes, a plate of mixed chopped shallots, chili pepper bird’s-eye view, and vinegar, and a piece of watermelon, as well as a wedge of lemon for flavor.

Steamed white rice with an assortment of Balinese specialties to the plate of “Nasi Campur Bali literally Balinese style Mixed Rice’s translated. Comparatively, I found the Nasi Campur here to be better than Made’s Warung’s with more ingredients such as slices of marinated beef and a half egg with sambal, and a skewer of Sate Lilit, or fish satay with a strong touch of lemon grass and spices.

Bebek Bengil serves not only the Balinese specialties, but also various Western delights such as fish and chips, sandwiches, pasta and even pork ribs affected. The fettuccine with cream sauce was a bit disappointing, with the creaminess is nothing but empty promises. The sauce is diluted, and the pieces of Marlin (a kind of trout), provided much of the briny pasta that could be too salty taste some misintepreted.

The avocado juice with chocolate syrup in Bebek Bengil was our top pick for the entire trip. Fresh, creamy and refreshing, with swirls of light sweetness of the chocolate syrup accentuated, the drink was a very one enjoyed only IDR23, 000 / RM8. 40 / USD2. 40 per glass.

The food was IDR 977 130 / RM356. 60 / USD one hundred and first 90 for the 10 of us, including 10% VAT and 5% service charge. Undoubtedly one of the more expensive meal we have had in Bali, but worth every penny paid for, in my opinion. For food, for the service, and for the ambience.
