In Americasâ? 64-foot sailboat Ocean Watch will be on display after completing its 28,000 nautical mile, one-year expedition around the North and South America. Ocean Watch returned to Seattle 17th to inspire in June 2010 its mission to educate and mobilize citizens to protect our oceans and America’s changing fragile marine environment. During the expedition crew discussed the issues of maritime health, including melting of the polar caps, the health of coral reefs and ocean acidification. The classes will be on 14 foot Hobie Waves. The Hobie Wave catamaran is a loner, which can accommodate up to 4 people and is a great cruise for all ages and skill levels. Classes begin with a briefing 30 minutes to port, so that the children comfortable with the water and learning the basics of sailing. You then have the pleasure boats on the water to themselves, (with an instructor who is next to a boat). The lessons are available Saturday and Sunday at 11 clock, 13 hours, 15 hours and 17 hours. Sail Sand Point is a small community in Seattle boot program for young people and access for all. They fulfill their mission by promoting self-confidence, leadership and an appreciation of the marine environment.
