The price of the machine is irrelevant; you cannot do it yourself, so go with the contractor who details what you are paying for, and who will stand by the equipment s/he installs. It is also best to have the contractors bid similar machines; model specifications differ widely among brands and available options. Get quotes for units with similar capacity as well as SEER ratings.
