Can I install a ceiling fan in a garage outside with a heavy extension cord?
I want to run a ceiling fan in my garage. The garage is not connected to my house and has no internal wiring. If I have to use a light in my garage, I run an extension cord is heavy (orange) and use a hanging lamp that plugs into it. My question is, is it possible to use a ceiling fan to install the roof with another way to get a rallonge.Le wiring the fan has a hot and neutral, and ground. (Black, white and blue) and orange extension cords and three (black, white and green). Can I simply splice, use dowels wiring, ceiling mounting and plug? If not, why not? Reply

Question : Is it dangerous to have an extension cord near a heating/air conditioning vent? And for permanent usage?
For years my family and I have used extension cords. I have two in my room underneath my bed. One of them is vent near a heating/air conditioning vent. I also have several things including my fan and cell phone charger plugged into these extension cords. I would like to know if this is dangerous or a safety hazard and if so how much?

I’d recommend buying a few of those “power strips” with fat cords. The good ones have overload breakers, and the heavier wires carry more amperage without getting hot. Also they have switches, so you can power them down for safety when not in use. How dangerous are extension cords? They weren’t allowed in any housing the Army ever provided for me 40 years ago. Many house fires involve them. I’d put fresh batteries in the smoke detectors.

If a knot is out of the question, you’ll need to re-string it. Find a comparable thickness of cord at a local craft shop, carefully take the unit apart, and re-string it exactly as you see it. take photos as you go if you need to. digital or polaroid.

A continuous cord is really a beaded chain which operates a gear that raises and lowers shades. It’s also referred to as a continuous cord loop. This is one way to operate shades, as opposed to having two
cords, one to raise and one to lower or tilt (in the case of a horizontal slatted blind). Reaching behind a headboard to operate a shade is a pain so the no cord option wouldn’t work. For safety reasons, some people prefer the corded style. With the continuous style, you need to put in a cord keeper so that no one (especially children) get hung up in the loop.

I cannot get my gas logs to light. I have looked things over and the cord that runs from the push button ignitor to the where it would spark has fallen out of the sparking end.
