I used to design heat recovery boilers for a while and, if my memory serves me right, at 65 bar and 510 C you’re looking at a high-end IP (intermediate pressure) system or a low end HP (hig pressure system). Since it’s only single stage, it should cost much less. Assuming you can get that kind of steam output from the gas turbine exhaust gas (ie. you won’t need a burner), a very rough guess would be around $ 300k -$ 500k. The two largest companies that provide this type of equipment are Nooter/Eriksen and Deltak.
As far as the turbine goes, that I’m not really sure of, but I’m guessing it would be in the same ballpark.
Advantages of large plants for the gasification of biomass
0In this article we will discuss the means of biomass gasification, the gasification of biomass in contrast to carbon-based fuels. The idea of gasification has been practiced for a long time, especially on coal to produce town gas until 1950, when heating oil and kerosene was the most popular and charcoal production reduced in most developed countries.
recently with the rising cost of fossil fuels, the idea of gassing came once more to the fore. Expect a lot more to hear about gasification in the coming years!
This process produces mixtures of hydrogen and carbon monoxide (synthesis gas or syngas) from raw materials containing carbon such as coal, oil, coke and heavy oil. Gasification can play an important role in plant biomass gasification-scale deployment of sustainable energy and is one of the technically and economically convincing energy possibilities for carbon-neutral.
To give you an idea of what gasification start by first considering the small size and a simple wood gasifier. In this example, gasification works by a hood that sucks up the gas timber into the combustion chamber from top to bottom in a lower combustion chamber which produces superheated. In most cases, this can be achieved without a fan, and the hood itself can be delivered through the carburetor when the system is turned on.
In principle, gasification generates very efficient clean combustion, particularly large-scale biomass gasification plants, where the economies of scale to reduce costs. monitored in these plants, so that the effect of the combustion takes place at high temperature and oxygen content by creating a gas called “syngas” in the process. The synthesis gas can be removed from the process and as we mentioned earlier as a raw material used in the creation of other organic chemicals. If synthesis gas is stored and burned later, it can be used very effectively to the production units of energy in the gasification plant biomass operate on a large scale.
gasification can be used for the manufacture of fertilizers and chemicals and in the pursuit of technologies that are less carbon dioxide emissions, is expected to dramatically increase production are used mainly in China.
gasification can be used at each level of the small farm with agricultural waste as raw materials to highly technological uses extreme heat and rarely seen on land outside volcanic eruptions, and lightning, but it is more complicated, the small and the best operate in the gasification plant biomass carried out in a big way.
gasification of wood and wood waste and waste type fixed bed or fluidized-bed size with subsequent combustion of natural gas for heat production is also the art and should be used to commonplace in the search for renewable fuels at their peak.
wood gas are now used more often, for example in the Scandinavian countries, where it is used almost exclusively for the production of heat and wood from local forests, in place of the nations appetite for fossil fuels important precedent-based ( oil, gas and coal), their population about the long, cold winters heat.
Scandinavians see the gasification of the assets of their nation’s renewable forest as a major player in their progression to less and less dependence on fossil fuels, and many of these large-scale biomass gasification plants are.

The gasification of wood and the overall future for the gasification of biomass
0Wood gasification is a simple technique, the secondary air will fall into the ashes that overheating and burning smoke and wood ash to a point where there is very little left. The process is extremely efficient and gets the maximum energy of a newspaper of wood ash is little to clean.
gasification is a process that can be burned in the wood burning wood gases at high temperatures, and although it uses far from 50 to 100 years, since the advent of cheap oil in the 1950s and in 1960 it was largely ignored.
gasification works both in a very simple wood stoves and gene-megawatt power plants enormous power into the national power grids. Recently, large generators like GE recognized this and have the development of technologically advanced integrated coal gasification combined cycle (IGCC) generator, as several million dollars in the idea. However, until recently the company was the fact that gasification bring national cup and large efficiency benefits and smoke forget to be pursued simultaneously. In a design for the gasification of wood ingeniously simple (or a small electric fan in many designs) results in a range hood that produces extreme heat up to 2000 degrees ignite all gases including smoke and creosote give almost 100% efficiency. The effect of gasification is working through the hood that sucks the gas timber into the combustion chamber from top to bottom in a lower combustion chamber which produces superheated. Biomass gasification, the idea of wood stoves, where it juts out a number of products on the market with a wide range of fuels available, not just wood. In their current state of the use of biomass is open source and base. Many people are tinkering carburetor and they are normal Joe and Jane’s. What you or I would be a craftsman on the back on! But we should all be grateful, because the technological requirements of the inventors and companies struggle away from several million dollars. It is simply too important to the health of the planet at all levels of society with renewable energy freely available from us at the peak. Projectsbiomass gasification could be of interest under the CDM (Carbon Management landfill – dream or emission credits in the plan in place years after Kyoto), because the energy of renewable biomass directly shifts the emission of greenhouse gas emissions while contribute to sustainable rural development.
However, surprisingly, until recently there was only a draft gasification of biomass to be registered in the CDM to date stands out among thousands of other systems. Biomass gasification is a renewable, low-cost alternative energy in an environmentally friendly use of carbon fuels like oil and coal or natural gas. Energy from biomass has grown since its first applications, but in general is the sad reality that until now was not possible to achieve a solid to a commercial stage, except in times of crisis and for specific applications. In the meantime have other gasification technologies, fossil fuel-powered big invetsment received and are now widely used on industrial scales, such as refineries along for poor quality and waste oil refineries have no use for traditional use. Biomass gasification will surely work, and it worked 20 years ago. It is true, as capital-intensive process that the problem of competing against lower cost (but not sustainable) options for gasification and too complex to be used in small-scale needs. Well, at least the rear garage tinkerers carburetor in development that have inspired their skills and ability to innovate, have all chances to use the technology in the production of tinkerers small boilers rescue and surprisingly low prices effectively with all types of fuel currently and wasted. For my money, I say three cheers for these guys and girls are not afraid to roll up your filthy hands, sleeves, and a lot more than any oven, tea can make!

Gasification of wood and the future in general for the gasification of biomass
0Gasification is a process for burning wood, where the gases are burned from the wood at very high temperatures, and although it has been used extensively 50-100 years, since the advent of cheap oil in the late 1950s and 1960s, they were largely ignored.
Gasification works both on a very basic level in wood stoves and in large stations Gen feed megawatts of electricity into the national grid. For some time the large generators like GE have recognized this and develop the highly technologically sophisticated Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) generator, as multi-million dollars in the idea.
But until recently the company had, the fact that gasification can also be sued in the domestic hearth level and bring great efficiency and smoke emission reduction benefits at the same password.
In a simple wood gasifier design genius (or a small electric fan in many designs) results in a range hood that produces extreme heat up to 2000 degrees ignites all gases including smoke and creosote gives therefore almost 100% efficiency. The gasification effect works through the hood that wood absorbs gas from the combustion chamber in the upper chamber downward into a chamber where combustion takes place overheated.
Biomass gasification expand the idea of wood stoves where there are a number of products on the market to use a wide range of available fuels, not just wood. In its current state of the use of biomass, is open source and private levels. Many people cobble together carburetors and they are normal Joe’s and Jane’s. What you or I would call the backyard tinkerer! But we should all be grateful, because this technology removes Wrestling needs of inventors and the multi-million dollar company. It is simply too important to the health of the planet, at all levels of society using free renewable energy to our store, to the fullest.
could be biomass gasification projects of interest under the CDM (Carbon Management Relief – or repressed dreamed carbon credits under the scheme to the Kyoto Summit years) because of renewable energy from biomass used directly greenhouse gas emissions and also contribute to the sustainable development of rural Area.
But surprisingly, until recently there was only a biomass gasifier project under the CDM are not yet registered, among thousands of other systems.
Gasification of biomass is a renewable, cheaper and environmentally friendly energy alternative to the use of carbon fuels like oil and coal or natural gas. Energy from biomass has grown since its first applications, but in general, the sad fact is that until now it has not been possible to achieve a healthy commercial stage, except in times of crises, and only for certain applications.
Meanwhile, other technologies, gasification of fossil fuels fed invetsment get large and are now widely used on industrial scales, bad example, in refineries and thus quality oils, the traditional refineries have exploited no use for.
Biomass gasification certainly does, and it worked 20 years ago. It’s also a capital-intensive process, the problem of competing with lower cost (but not sustainable) options and gasification complex has been seen to be used on a small scale.
Well at least the garage back inventors have carburetors in the development, which have their skills and inspired ability to innovate, every chance of saving this technology from the inventor by manufacturing of small inexpensive and amazingly efficient boilers with all types of fuel currently unused and wasted.

Shell Foundation says two billion people always assumed to biomass improved stoves needs of an enterprise approach
0New Delhi, 10 December: The problems with the change of second 6 billion people around the world from the traditional stove improved biomass stoves are so far into the health of the drive home message to be safe, that the process to achieve the requirements of commercial viability, demographic, meets reasonable pricing and financing options, Shell Foundation India Country Head Anuradha Bhavnani said at the Technical Consultation on “Advanced stoves for better health of women and children” organized by USAID here today.
Outline the findings of the current indoor air pollution awareness campaign in Shimoga District of Karnataka, said Mrs. Bhavnani, the four cardinal points, the requirements are, First, furnaces that meet the standards of the reduced emissions, second, that sustainable price points for business and scaling are Thirdly, funding opportunities and fourth, to give the government involvement at the base, to raise awareness scale programs. Jeor Blum, Deputy Director, Shell Foundation, chaired the session on enterprise solutions to poverty.
Shell Foundation has undertaken an extensive program of engagements in 111 villages in Shimoga is the district and the state administration, together, drive to raise awareness about the third largest cause of death in the country, Indoor Air Pollution (IAP).
“The Shell Foundation sees this campaign to raise as one of the most exciting and important developments in its Breathing Space program, which wants to achieve a significant reduction in long-term planning of the IAP so-called improved stoves, the more emissions and fuel consumption – and the development of a sustainable way to learn it in people’s homes, “said Jeroen Blum, Deputy Director, Shell Foundation.
Shell Foundation is supported by the Chief Minister’s Office received on its proposal for an inter-ministerial committee with participation of experts IAP, stove manufacturer name, MFIs, NGOs and others to develop a plan for state action. The State Government has positively considered the proposal Shell Foundation, a mission of turning districts with high fuelwood use in “Free IAP Districts,” starting with Shimoga District as a model adopted. The campaign is currently in operation in the Shimoga district in North Rhine-Westphalia has received the support of officials of the state and county government.
The campaign in Shimoga district is focusing an initiative of Shell Foundation to the promotion of internationally recognized, efficient and sustainable method to combat the IAP, namely “improved stoves”, which significantly reduce emissions and fuel consumption. Currently, the program, taking the message to 111 villages in Shimoga district by a combination of on-ground static and interactive activities. The high intensity campaign will be conducted over a 90-day period from October to January 2009th
The campaign will also reach to the people through the active support of the district administration including health and education infrastructure, village level health workers and demonstration of the Campaign for Gram Panchayats.
The initiative follows a pilot campaign in IAP, Shell Foundation conducted in 2008 in the districts of Raichur, Koppal, Udupi and Mysore, which indicated that, although small changes to keep as “the kitchen window open,” “the installation of a fireplace or Fan “‘keep children away smoke’or’ use of dry firewood can” make a big difference in reducing IAP, then the final concentration to motivate people to change their behavior, with a focus on improved stoves.
Shell Foundation also has the concept of the “developed to standardize the herd, right on the campaign with the improved stoves. The brand as a “symbol of trust” is on the packaging and marketing materials of all improved stove manufacturer i. e. those strict tests appear to minimum exhaust emissions and fuel economy standards as they existed set by international bodies. At the local level, this brand will double-up display as “standard characters” in order to reduce to an improved stove smoke levels by as much as 55%, while the use of at least 40% less fuel.
The campaign will be to your doorstep with the concept of sustainable Householder activist, an active local village lady visiting various households and informing the villagers about the problems of the IAP and its solution – the use of improved stoves with the “standard mark of confidence will be taken “through stories and flip-chart distribution of leaflets. Stove Smoke-less demos are carried out at markets will benefit the villagers and the effective use of stoves introduced by giving them first-hand experience of the use of the furnace.
Currently, the campaign by Shell Foundation to the villagers, the presence of independent producers such as improved stove Envirofit and Selco, which have launched a range of clean burning biomass cook stoves, designed in the country by a team of globally recognized scientists and engineers highlight.

Earth Friendly Heat With Biomass wood pellets
0Do not let your money go up in smoke! Take look at biomass wood pellet production. Long before oil and propane has been the standard for heating and commercial buildings, wood provided heat for both cooking and heating. Fireplaces and wood stoves heat in cold winter days, provided climate for centuries, until it replaces central heating. Get the Facts about biomass pellets HereHowever, heating and cooking with wood has had its problems. Heating with wood is not the cleanest heating system; standard woodstoves and fireplaces bring a huge amount of both gaseous and particulate pollutants in the air, and the coating chimneys and stovepipes with a gummy, highly flammable substance called creosote. Before the appearance of oil-based central heating, many chimney fires every year, because to increase the ignition of creosote, led to the loss of thousands of homes and several lives. Biomass wood pellets are an alternative to a house to heat. The stoves use wood pellets that look exactly like rabbit food, and made from dried sawdust from sawmills recycling, which ends up in landfills otherwise compressed. Wood pellets are thought to be climate-neutral, as the tree absorbs the same amount of carbon as the pellets emit when burned. Loading the hopper is will usually be only once a day and requires much less frequent when the stove is used on low settings. The small size of pellets allows precise control of fuel supply. Make pellets instead! And what about your autumn leaves and branches that you just raked up? Make them into pellet fuel for the winter that is something! Dried grass, hay, wood chips, pine cones, acorns, shells, corn cobs, corn husks, stalks, twigs, branches, etc. Each pulverized biomass, you can turn into free FUEL! You name it! Bioenergy comes from converting biomass into usable energy. Therefore, the production of biomass pellets made extension preferred. Demand is increasing the demand for biomass pellets production means that there is more interest in how wood pellets are produced. In order to make biomass wood pellets, the right gifts and facilities are needed.

Heating with Biomass wood pellets
0What: Biomass wood pellets are burning material that is made from sawdust. They are regular and small companies (between four and 20 mm). They also include humidity below 10%. In addition, they are reinforced with high density. Most good quality biomass wood pellets are usually pure and natural. They are free from any additives or chemicals. Click here to get the best biomass wood pellet biomass material such as straw, corn, wood but generally are milled by a piece of machinery to be very fine sawdust. Moreover, the sawdust can also be a byproduct of wood processing any proceedings as sawmills. Then this fine sawdust under extraordinary pressure by feeding in pelletizing machine is compressed. At the same time, a natural component of this type of biomass, lignin, melts and acts as a “binder” held them together to form and shape, such as extruded pellets. This natural component also makes a “glaze” type appearance on the outside of the pellets. At a temperature of 90oC, the pellets are forced through a dye. After cooling the lignin. The pellets are then solidified and set. When they are cooled and ready, the pellets can be packed or loaded into the transport policy for the auto sales, either for domestic use. Why: These benefits are listed below. Their high density and compact objects, that they place less human. Simple trans portas discussed, biomass wood pellets are highly compressed and compressed, so they are easier in the long-ship, because they simply do not break or come loose. • Lower moisture contentThis property allows the biomass using wood pellets lesser energy to burn off damp, so much energy is saved. Biomass such as wood pellets wood fuels can be used on most standard heating systems like boilers and furnaces. Also for the past few years, pellet stove, boiler and other similar products currently available on the market and used in many households. Smaller emission and ashTherefore, the CO2 released during combustion compensated during the process of photosynthesis of plants and trees. Easy to handleAs discussed earlier, the moisture content of biomass wood pellets a maximum of ten percent. This means that less energy is needed in order to burn off. With pellets, each State may use its own funds. It must not be too dependent on foreign oil. , Production and use of biomass pellets adds the income of the country.
