How can I get rid of the chalky residue/discoloration on the outside of my anodized cookware?

Question : How can I get rid of the chalky residue/discoloration on the outside of my anodized cookware?
I have a set of Cuisinart hard anodized cookware that is not supposed to go in the dishwasher. My cleaning lady has repeatedly put a few of these pots in the dishwasher, resulting in a chalky film depositing on the outside of the pans.

Is there a way I can get rid of this? Or are the pans ruined?

The Mr Clean Magic Eraser truly is magic. My kids insist on putting my Farberware Millennium pots and pans in the dishwasher. The Magic Eraser takes off the residue and discoloration as well as annoying grease/oil spots. As an aside, I do insist that the kids clean the residue from the pots after they have put them in the dishwasher; funny thing, they have (mostly) stopped putting them in the dishwasher.

I’ve done a bit of research, and we ended up purchasing Anolon’s Ovation–which is nonstick anodized. I understand a bit of differences between nonstick and just hard anodized cookware, but what about the care for the combination of both? Obviously, one wouldn’t use metal cooking utensils with nonstick, but anything else? I always hand wash dishes anyhow…
**Do I just treat the cookware as I would any nonstick cookware? Any foods to avoid?

Dont’ put it in the dishwasher, unless you dont’ mind a white haze on the outside of your pots/pans.

Use a sponge to clean w/ liquid detergent. Soak cooked-on foods to get off… no scrubbing w/ metal brillo pads.

check with your stoves manufacturer. Mine says no cast iron but anodized is okay.
