Maybe you install a ceiling fan for outdoor use to cover such as under a patio?
Looking to install a ceiling fan with a covered patio in my backyard, but I wanted to know if a ceiling fan work or do I buy / use a ceiling fan for outdoor use.

Yes, as it against the elements like wind and rain is protected. The housing can be insulated in cold climates.

Anyone will work but some are mostly designed for indoor use. I hope you’re not stupid enough to put an expensive one. It might fall during an earthquake. Go to Lowes.

Yes. Certain fans are made for outdoor use. Primarily you need to be sure the blades are made of plastic or some sort of composite rather than wood.

YES AS LONG AS IT IS PROTECTED FROM MOURSTURE, RAIN ECT. HOWEVER A METAL BLADE FAN WOULD LAST LONGER

go to the local Home Depot or Lows hardware stores. While i think you can use any fan as long as protected, they will have one that will work for you, even if there is an outdoor rated one they should have it. or check their websites and see what they got.

Depending on where you live. My in-laws installed 6 on their covered back deck and now have 6 warped fans due to moisture in the air. We live in the south so it gets humid. I would go ahead and pay a little more and get outdoor fans. We installed two indoor/outdoor fans and have never had a problem. You can get them at Home Depot for a reasonable price.

I have a Hampton Bay ceiling fan under my patio cover that is rated for outdoor use. The fan blades are made to look like wood, but are a resin material and the housing for the motor is a little different than my indoor fans. I think you would be smart to purchase one that is made to be outdoors because they are designed to handle the weather, condensation, humidity, temperature variations, etc. Mine was only $ 50 at Home Depot. I got it on clearance at the end of last season and it weathered the rainy season well, didn’t rust and it looks like new.
