Is it better to splurge on an organic pillow or an organic pillow case?

Question : Is it better to splurge on an organic pillow or an organic pillow case?
If you had to pick one. Also does it really make a difference if your comforter isn’t organic as long as your sheets are? I’m trying to go more green but it’s too expensive to do it all at once. Also, has anyone really noticed any differences after switching to organic materials? Looking forward to your answers. Thanks!

All of our sheets and pillow cases are organic. They are 100% cotton.

What kind of difference were you expecting?

The biggest problem with bedding is dust mites and you will have them regardless of the type of bedding you have.

I doubt you will notice any difference if you go “green”

Question : serious inquires about Caribbean weddings, please?
i really want to have a wedding in the caribbean. i live in NJ and don’t want to go too far. i was thinking of St. Thomas. has anyone ever been married there? do you know of any nice hotels in st. thomas that i can be married? i was looking at the Marriott Frenchman’s Reef and Morning star. is it any good?if not, where in the Caribbean have you been married? Do you know any one who has been married in the caribbean?i would like to know how much it costs (roughly). i should also mention that i’m planning on inviting over 70 people ( i know call me crazy) but we both have big families. this is why i don’t want to go very far. (6 hours from Newark air port max).i heard of sandals and breezes, they don’t allow children so that won’t work out. on top of that, our guests will not be staying for 6 nights. to be honest, i planned on having them fly in on Friday and fly out on Sunday :-) please help me. i know the question is lengthy, but i really would like some help. thanks so much.

P.S. if you know any good deals let me know :-)

My sister is getting married at St Thomas in April.

Consider a cruise ship wedding. That might be cheaper. There are lots of hotels on St Thomas. Many people may want to book their own lodging since it may be cheaper to stay at Best Western.

Also Sandals is adult only but Beaches (their sister resort) is not.

Check out reviews on tripadvisor for different hotels. Frenchman’s Reef is close to downtown. I don’t know if that’s what you are going for or not. It is close to the shopping but it is on the busier side of the island. You may rather be on the Meghan’s Bay side. There are some great resorts that are expensive though–Elysian comes to mind.

My sister is getting married on Limetree Beach (now called Bluebeard’s Beach). We are using Islandweddingservices.com for our wedding planning and have been very pleased with them. They respond quickly to emails.

The most expensive thing I noticed was the flight to St Thomas. Check sidestep.com for your area but for us it would be close to 1,000 per person for round trip flight. Also time of year. The best time (aka cheapest) time to go to St Thomas is prior to may or hurricane season (October-Nov). But you may not want to go during that time as there is always the chance that a hurricane might ruin your whole week.

A wedding in St Thomas is rather cheap. We are spending less than 3000. No one will fly down Friday and back Sunday though. That would be spending close to 3,000 to come to your wedding without enjoying any time on the island. Invite 70 definitely but as it’s a destination wedding do not expect that many to come. If they cannot afford the week vacation there, they are not going to come for the wedding alone. It’s just too expensive of a flight.

Any recommendations for a good wedding DJ in Columbus, Ohio?

Question : Any recommendations for a good wedding DJ in Columbus, Ohio?
My fiance and I are looking for a good wedding DJ in Columbus. We had originally planned to go with A Solid Gold Sound, until we discovered they have an “F” rating from the BBB. We need someone who can basically emcee our reception as we have no wedding planner, and no site manager will be on site (the small wedding and reception are at a wooded lodge). Does anyone have any recommendations?

I live in VA and am a wedding DJ. I recommend you use a ‘one man show’ type of DJ as the other DJ companies with multiple DJ’s usually don NOT cut the bill. I used to work for a large DJ company, they DO NOT care about you, only your money! That is why I broke off on my own. Hope this helps! use Google…

Do Islamic mosques even need minarets any more, thanks to modern technology (i.e. call-to-prayer alarm clocks)?

Question : Do Islamic mosques even need minarets any more, thanks to modern technology (i.e. call-to-prayer alarm clocks)?
Kinda wondering because Switzerland banned the construction of new minarets, but not mosques:

In practical terms, this isn’t really a big deal, right? Devout Muslims can already tell the prayer times from personalized alarm clocks or time sheets, can’t they?

how much can we ask for lawn mowing?

Question : how much can we ask for lawn mowing?
hi!
I want to know how to ask for lawn mowing. I was this adv who wanted a person for lawn mowing and snow removal in winter.
One more thing I didnt do this before but I thought it should not be very difficult to do it. What do you say?

I’ve noticed that the cost of doing lawns has risen dramatically in the last few years.
A lot size of 1/3 acre is about $ 20 each time, and any trimming or garden work is extra.
.
Snow plowing is different, around here, $ 300 to $ 500 a year or $ 25 each time it snows more then 3 inches is normal.
.
It;s not easy work and it does require some expertise and care. It looks easy, but you are dealing with someone else’s property and if you mess up you will get a bad reputation. Without a good reputation, you will go out of business fast!

Would memory foam be a good choice for dining room chairs?

1

Question : Would memory foam be a good choice for dining room chairs?
I am re-doing my dining room chairs and would like to know if 5lb. density 2.5 in. memory foam would be a good choice or should I just go with medium firm 2.5 in. regular foam. I am going to wrap the foam in batting before I put the fabric on the chairs. Also would 2.5 inches be thick enouph or should I do 3 inches? Please give details as to which foam would be better and why.

I would stay away from memory foam for dining chairs.

Folks move around, get up, sit down too often for there to be any benefit to having memory foam on a chair, and I can see where it would be a major PITA (literally!) to not be able to turn in my chair comfortably or to have to “REsit” myself in the molded-to-my-bottom cushion after getting up to get more rolls, or whatever.

I’d use regular medium density foam and I wouldn’t use more than a 2″ slab of it… especially if you’re going to wrap the foam w/ batting before applying fabric.

If the cushion is too high/bulky you risk folks having to dangle their legs off the edge of the chair (think of Lily Tomlin’s “Edith Ann” sitting in the big chair), or having an uncomfortable pressure point at the back of their thighs that could cause legs to go numb.
