Question : What are the smoothest most comfortable bed sheets to buy?
I recently bought a king set of 300 TC Ralph Lauren bed sheets (100% cotton) and even after washing twice it was like sleeping on newspaper. Obviously even Ralph Lauren doesn’t know how to make quality bed sheets. When they were in the package and new they felt so smooth and silky. After washing on warm/warm and drying on low (as suggested on the label) they were like cardboard. I even ironed them on medium as suggested.

I have a set of Egyptian cotton, which are so comfortable, and a set that’s like 800 thread count. It feels almost like silk. I wash them by themselves, on delicate, and tumble dry. I also use a crap load of fabric softener and 2 dryer sheets. They still feel good and I’ve had them about 6 months now. Good luck to you!!!

You can get very nice sheets for about $ 100. Check the ones with the 5 star reviews.

300 TC sheets are awful.

basically, the higher the thread count, the smoother the fabric. also, brand-name cotton (I.E. Pima cotton, or Egyptian cotton) is typically higher quality than just plain cotton.

we have 600-800 TC sheets from Springmaid/Wamsutta, and they take good care of us.

With the bed came a sheet set, which sheets are 310 count cotton and very smooth. Another factor is that they’re made in USA, wherever that city is. If your 300 count sheets were made in China, that’d be why you’re still having problems. I’ve felt silk, and I like this 310 cotton better. What surprises me is that even I can discern the difference between the 180 we had and the 310 we now have. I hope you don’t have to buy a whole bed to get good sheets, tho.

Sometimes it takes quite a few washings with liquid fabric softener in the wash & drying them with a softener sheet.

But next time, get the highest thread count you can find, sateen Egyptian cotton.

when it comes to sheets. During the months of November thru April ONLY FLEECE, not flannel, but FLEECE and the best ones available. Now normally I HATE cotton with a passion, I cannot stand that “cold” feeling….the wrinkling…..the whole thing..just irks me..but nothing defys “ORGANIC COTTON” I love these sheets…they come in an organic bag, and they run about 40-80$ for a Queen size set. I love these…they are yummy….and they are natural which is always a plus
My mom was a Bedding dept mag for 15 years and she has to have at least 500 if not 1,000 thread count eghyptian sheets…..YUCK….the organic cotton is “to die for” and I did talk my mom into trying the fleece this last winter….she is hooked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
