How to get people to buy for a fundraiser for 3rd grade child?

Question : How to get people to buy for a fundraiser for 3rd grade child?
My 8 year old brother is doing a fundraiser for his school, its a magazine with a bunch of neat stuff in it like xmas wrapping paper, breast cancer support stuff, magazines, candles, etc.

for selling 200 items is a really neat prize that he really wants. & i told him i would try to help him sell them. what is some adivce to get people to buy from him? & where could I go to get people to buy? help please. best detailed answer gets points. thanks.

I set up a little display at my desk at work with my daughter’s picture and I had her write about why she needed to sell items (what the fundraiser was for), she was able to get several of the prizes because people were impressed with the display and it caught their attention. I did not actively seek out buyers, I just let the display do the selling.

first of all have him do the asking and tell them (the customers) that this is what i am trying to get also you may want to take him to a grocery store like schunks or derbegs and have him ask people to look threw this book just be sure to get name and address so you can help him deliver to everyone also walk around your neighbor hood and have him go door to door even if you don’t know the people also you may want to give them your name and number so they have some to call to see when they will be getting there items also try a big factory in your neighborhood to see if they will let you bring your brother come and ask them to buy items make sure he also tells them what school they will be helping out at this will be a big factor in alot of peoples choice to purchase if the school really does need help or not good luck and happy selling

I have a fourth grader and am no stranger to the fundraiser. It is a thorn in my side. They really discourage children from going door to door for safety reasons, but I have seen parents drive their children to each house and let them ask.

Better to me is to ask people who have a genuine interest in you, and perhaps “owe you one” because you’ve bought from their children before. Our biggest success comes from asking people at work and emailing everyone on our address book.

If your nephew is so inclined, he could sell lemonade or cookies from the front yard, grown ups eat that up. Say the money goes to charity and buy stuff out of the magazine with the proceeds.

It’s really hard to get to that great prize level. I say make copies of the catalog and hand them out to all your relatives and your parents can ask their friends.

Go around the neighborhood, if you go to church take it there. You could always get your friends and their parents!

First ask, relatives and friends. I used to ask my mom to sell it to her co-workers. If going to neighbors, make sure you that the order/s has been paid for.
