Question : Which would use up more energy if it was running all day?-an overhead fan, an a.c. or a smaller plug in fan?
I keep an overhead fan on all day and i wanted to know if it was more energy efficient to have the a/c running instead.

a.c. uses up way more power thats why some smaller cities around larger cities have blackouts in the summer. because they are using all of that power to run peoples a.c. in appartments.
The way to tell is to determine how much electricity per hour each unit needs to run. The one that uses less electricity per hour uses the least amount per day. Usually A.C. uses a lot more electricity than a small fan because A.C. has a compressor unit which takes comparibly more electricity to power up than the fan alone.
