How to kill termites without a professional doing it?

Question : How to kill termites without a professional doing it?
I recently found evidence of termites in my garage. Only in one area however. I realize just because I can’t see evidence anywhere else it doesn’t mean they aren’t everywhere.
Tenting my house is too costly at this time , I was wondering if anyone out there knew of a product to purchase that would kill them, I’ve read about Boracare and it sounds effective, not sure if there is something better out there. If anyone has any information please respond, I will take any information positive or negative. Thank You !!!

This mixture is taken from the ABC television program in Australia.

BORAX OR BORASIC ACID IS TOXIC and is used when you have found evidence of WHITE ANTS (Termites) you combine 1 part Borax to 5 parts Blood and Bone, sift together well and put on the White Ant trail, The White Ants take it back to the QUEEN and they all die!

Repeat after 3 weeks to kill any hatched eggs.

You are taking a real risk with you house if you try to do this yourself. My rule is that it’s OK to treat termites outside your house in areas like sheds, fence posts and wood piles, but once they come inside…call a pro.

You may be surprised that tenting is not necessary in most cases, and that a professionally applied treatment can stop the damage and eliminate the problem at a reasonable cost. It’s definately worth having a pro look at the problem.

Active termite infestations in your home or garage should be treated by termite control firms. If you think you have termites and are seeing signs of, bait stations will let you know if you have a problem. Their pop up “hit” indicator makes them easy to check and lets you know when termites are feeding on a particular bait station. Termites travel through the soil to enter the garage and thats where bait stations are placed

Wouldn’t it be worth the piece of mind knowing for sure the situation is taken care of by getting a pro?
The least you could do is get a pro in there for a price estimate. I think some of them will give free estimates. It might not be as bad as you think.
