Cack in stomped ceiling – how to repair?
Question : Cack in stomped ceiling – how to repair?
I am looking at a home to purchase that has couple of cracks it the ceiling in the living room. Nothing major really, but since it is a stomped ceiling, after repairing the 4-5 ft crack, will I have to have the entire ceiling restomped or can a professional contractor blend inin. Otherwise will I have to have all of the original stomping removed and redone. Since the dining room runs continuously off the living room, that would have to be redone too?! Have you had any experience in ths area?
Thanks,
Steve/OHIO

You dont indicate how big the crack is, but I would just fill it in with some joint compund, sand it, and then paint. It should blend right in, unless the crack is really large. I wouldnt do anything to the stomping at all…
im a painter you can lightly caulk it with latex caulk rub off a ll access with your finger and use brush dont stroke it kinda dab it on like your putting out a cig or sumpn-If that doesnt work and you do have to get it repainted make sure after they scrap it down they mudd or float out the ceiling 2 coats of mud atleast and a good sanding and wipe of dust and apply oil based primer-someone just did my folks and used latex instead of oil primer and it all fell right back down goodluck
