Question : Wedding catering. . . ?
what would be the best food/appetizers to serve at a wedding with a very diverse crowd? Totaling about 100 people give or take 10 or so that might flake at the last minute

I own a country club and handle all of the wedding planning for the club. My experience is that most people choose items that are main stream and that people are familiar with. Although I have some unusual items on my wedding menu, these items are rarely chosen.
What you choose would depend on regional preferences as well. I’m located in New England. The meals that are familiar here would probably not be the right choice for a wedding located in the southwest or California.
I’m not sure what you mean by diverse, but you should probably consider a vegetarian dish as an option. Also, stay away from nuts and mushrooms, since many people have allergies. Hopefully if your guests have food allergies, they will let you know in advance.
If you have a seafood, chicken, beef and vegetarian option, this should cover the bases.

Question : What kind of air conditioning unit do I need for a 500sq.foot room with 12′ ceilings?
hello friends,
I am opening up a small store and I need to put a ductless air-con unit in there.
The space is 500 square feet, 12 foot ceilings, with a flat roof on top, concrete floors and brick walls. I also have a few appliances in the store that will give off a little heat.
I’ve been talking to air cond people and getting recommendations for all kinds of units. Some say I have to use a commercial unit, some say I can get away with a high powered residential unit.
I’d like to keep my costs down, so i’m trying to figure out a way to keep the store cool without spending a fortune. I’m thinking about using ceiling fans along with an air con…
Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

While you’re shopping, take a good look at the energy efficiency ratings on the different units. Keep in mind that over time, you’re probably going to spend more powering the unit than you will buying the unit. Spending a little more up front could end up saving you a lot of money down the road.

Question : Price for ceiling fan install.?
I just purchased a light/ceiling fan. My roommate that is an industrial electrician says the attic has the wires for the switch and everything right above where I want it so it shouldn’t be hard at all. I need to have a box with support installed above and possibly new wiring if the other can’t be pulled out from the outlet below. and of course I’ll need assembly of the fan. How much am I looking to spend about? We could do it ourselves but I don’t know if it’d be worth the money to save the time and all.

If your room mate is an industrial electrician, he/she should have no problems on an install of a ceiling fan…
Probably knows exactly where to go for the least expensive parts too…

told me if they are lead frames i can slive the joint and peel back and insert new glass…but not if they are zinc how do i know if they are zinc…they are about 4ft by 21/2 feet all(4) with a tulip pattern any ony ever see these and are they valuble?

Leaded glass windows look really nice, and add a lot to the house, but I’d leave it up to the professionals to insert new glass.
Do you watch “This old house”? They had a guy on there repairing one a couple weeks back, and to repair a broken piece in the middle, he had to take the whole window apart. Looked tough to me.

I bought a kingsize Tempsoma 3″ Memory Foam Mattress Topper Friday morning at Sams’ Club. It’s been over 48 hours and three of the four sides have not expanded. It’s only 2 inches on each side. I really want to go ahead and put it on the bed, even tho the packaging says it may be up to 72 hours.
I searched the web and only found mention of it being a problem with Costco’s Novasoft.

72 hours has come and gone and the three sides still haven’t expanded. We went ahead and put the velour cover on it and put it on the bed, and truthfully it’s not a big deal to us. The side that’s expanded we put at the head of the bed, and the sheets smooth out nicely along the mattress topper.

Wait the 72 hours and then follow the warranty / return guidelines. Sometimes memory foam does in fact need time to expand from the airtight packagaing.
