Question : Why do some hotels throw their pool deck furniture into the pool just before a hurricane?
If they’re afraid it’s going to blow away then why don’t they just pack them up and put them in storage?

Not sure why they would? This is the suggested plan that i found.
Proper pool preparedness prevents problems in hurricanes or strong storms.
Secure all deck furniture, toys, pool cleaning equipment and potted plants. Anything loose can and probably will become a missile or projectile in hurricane force winds. Put all loose items inside your house or garage. Do not throw lawn furniture into the pool. Furniture scratches the pool surface and rust stains from the furniture will become permanent blemishes on the surface. Besides, It takes a long time and is a real pain to fish the furniture out of the pool.

Question : What kind of exterior house paint do you recommend?
My mom is going to paint her house, and she was thinking about using Wal-Mart’s colorplace. Is this good paint? If not, can you explain why? What brand of paint would you recommend for good price and will still do a good paint job?

A couple of things must be known to answer your question:
1st, What is the house painted with now? Is it a latex or an oil base paint?,,If it’s latex, than any latex paint can be painted over it.
If it’s oil based, than there’s more to it. Oil based paints get hard over the years and getting new paint (either new oil based or latex) to stick may be a problem.
To get the latex paint to stick to oil based paint, you must break the hard surface of the oil based paint. To do that, you must sand that surface. That’ll take alot of work.
To get oil based paint to stick to the old oil based paint, there are 2 things you can do.
1 is to sand the surface and the other is to add a softening agent to the paint your putting on.The softening agent is put directly into the paint your putting on. A good paint store will know of this softenting agent- I’ve used something called “Peso” (pronounced Pa-so-like the Mexican penny)
As to where you buy the paint, Remember, Wall-Mart sells the cheapest products they can and I’ll bet the people in their paint dept. don’t know much about painting. I would go to Loew’s, at least there, if there’s a problem, they’ll stand behind their products and the people in the paint dept. didn’t just graduate from 8th grade. If you live in an area that has a Menards, DON’T BUY FROM THEM, THEY DON’T STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS no matter what the problem is.

so my friend and i spillled red soda all over my comforter and carpet
we’ve gotten it out of my carpet with spot remover
and have gottne a lot of pink out of the down pblanket
unfortunately
now my blanket is disgusting with spot remover
and is still pink
do you think we can throw it in the washing machine??
please help

yes, you can throw it in the washer but hang it outside on a fairly windy day to dry in the heat. then tumble dry for 10 min.
It will turn out perfect!

KitchenAid – K-Series 24″ Tall Tub Built-In Dishwasher – Stainless-Steel Model: KUDK03CTSS Pardon my super quiet mumbling… I loaded the dishwasher with a cutting board and knife that had pizza caked on it, a frying pan with scrambled eggs dried on it, and glasses that had bad water spots from the previous dishwasher. I used the normal wash, sani-rinse, and heated dry options. Everything came out spotless, and for the most part, DRY. It ran fairly quiet. I love the ease of use of the controls, very simple to use. I wish it came in stainless look, instead of stainless, as there are already a lot of smudges on it. I am thrilled with this dishwasher so far.

I am putting all of my stuff into a POD, and I know that it may get a bit rattled, but I do not know what to wrap things in. I do not have enough old blankets and do not want to buy crazy-priced moving blankets. Is there something else I could wrap my furniture in? I have thought about bubble wrap, but it gets a little pricy too. I am moving this coming saturday so I can not order anything. I live in Vegas. Let me know what you suggest!

Question : What does a wedding coordinator charge for one day?
My fiance and I were discussing the possibility of hiring a wedding coordinator for our wedding day. We are doing all the leg work, we just need him or her to take care of things on the day of our wedding. That way we can focus our attention to just getting married.

Wedding coordinators are usually hired to do all the work, make the calls, the arrangements. If you’re going to do all that, the why don’t you just ask a good friend to make sure your day goes as planned? Or the Best Man and Maid of Honor(part of the job/honor, really)? Seems like a waste of money to me.
