Where is a good place to take engagement photos in Milwaukee?

Question : Where is a good place to take engagement photos in Milwaukee?
Having engagement photos taken in Milwaukee, but not from that area. Need help looking for places that may be quaint/interesting, nature inspired, or have nice, “architecturally” interesting backdrops. Thanks!

You might want to go on Craigslist for that local area and talk to some photographers. Google Milwaukee parks, or something like that.

There is a newer hotel there called The Iron Horse that I thought was very “architecturally interesting”. I stayed there last year right after it opened and it’s beautiful! There is also the Milwaukee zoo. Also try http://www.county.milwaukee.gov/ParksandPublicInfras7720.htm to see more parks and gardens in and near milwaukee. (I’m not from Milwaukee either.) many people go to the Botanical Gardens in Whitnall Park… very popular because of its diverse greenery and flowers… i would also check out Grant Park for it’s historical and lake front views… or Lake Park in downtown Milwaukee.. .that may be the best because its close to the new Art Museum that gives you some awesome photo possibilities… as well as by Lake Michigan…. the museum has these wings that open and close which is very unique… the again Southshore Park offers an interesting view of the Milwaukee Skyline which would be a nice backdrop which would include the lake… sry for my rambling… just ideas popping in my head… good luck!!!!

The Calatrava addition to the Milwaukee Art Museum is the most striking backdrop in downtown Milwaukee.

In the morning, you’ll want to be on the east side of it. Go to the far east end of Michigan Street and either take the pictures from the parking lot of the vacant restaurant or walk out on the new public breakwater built between Discovery World and the vacant restaurant.

(If you are very lucky, the schooner Denis Sullivan may be moored next to Discovery World, and that makes a great photo, too. You can learn the Sullivan’s current location at the Pier Wisconsin website.)

In the afternoon, approach the art museum from the west (park on the east end of Wisconsin Avenue) and take photographs from the west side of the suspension bridge that goes across Lincoln Memorial Drive.

Avoid Saturday afternoons, as wedding parties line up in the best locations for extended photo sessions.
