Can a metal detector find my white gold wedding band in the grass?
Question : Can a metal detector find my white gold wedding band in the grass?
I lost my wedding band (white gold with diamonds) in a patch of grass next door to my house. I’ve looked and looked and looked yet, nothing. I can not find it. So I’m thinking of renting a metal detector. But, can such a device find it? Don’t metal detectors only locate ferrous metals? What should I do? Any advice would be great. My wife is in tears.

yes, metal detectors will find gold, silver, as well as cheaper metals…
I would suggest that you find a local treasure hunters club, ask if someone could help you find the ring.
EVERY treasure hunter that I know would be willing to help for no fee, just for the fun of the hunt. I would be very cautious of someone that wanted to charge you money.
How to find a club: call the White’s Electronics number, they will put you in touch with a LOCAL dealer. Call the local dealer and tell him/her of your plight.
