No, I do it all the time. But during an exam, you need to take them off so the professor won’t think you’re looking at other peoples’ papers behind the shades.

It’s totally rude to wear shades inside. Take them off, let the others see your eyes and your enthusiasm and you might actually score better marks.

I think it’s rude unless they are prescribed by a doctor. You don’t need them indoors.

Awkward is a personal question. Considered rude? Yes. But really etiquette has fallen by the wayside in an unrecoverable manner. The majority have no true sense of etiquette or manners anymore. And if you’re asking then, with all due respect, I rest my case.

There’s no rule or law (unless the college/university has set one) about wearing sun glasses in the classroom but it is so difficult for people to see the eyes of the other person (their student, their understudy) that that’s why glasses without glare were invented. My opinion is that it is not ok to wear sun shades or glasses in class, lecture halls, at work, to church, etc.

Of course it has to be accepted if the glasses are transition lenses and are prescribed.

It is only o.k. to wear shades inside if you have just had eye surgury or the optomitrist says that you must wear sun glasses. Otherwise, it is totally rude and must be avoided.

It is okay if the class leader accepts it. I wear amber colored shades indoors so as not to offend others. If you are wearing mirrored shades, that is considered rude indoors, go with a non-mirrored shade for indoor use.

1. only douches wear sunglass indoors 2. if you get a professor that feels disrespected that you have them on then be prepared to have your professor humilated you infron of everyone when he tells you like if your a small child to take them off.
