Why can I use Florecent light bulb with a From Dusk to Dawn exterior lighting?
Question : Why can I use Florecent light bulb with a From Dusk to Dawn exterior lighting?
and if I used it, does it really save money? Or would it mess up the electric system to cause higher electric bills? Should I change it back to a normal light bulb ?

Heres the deal a regular incandescent bulb has a wire in it that completes the circuit that tells the switch hey I’m on.
A fluorescent has exciters at each end that illuminate the fluorescent gas. no connection.thus no power supplied to the electronics of the switch…..I have done this get a small wattage bulb 10 watts and put that along with the fluorescent this will use minimum power and allow the higher wattage fluorescent to be used.
Instead of using the normal Par 50 exterior incandescent light that are normal for exterior lighting, use a 100watt spring bulb. This one is Fluorescent in nature, uses way less energy and last approximately 16 times longer. Hope this helps…. Plus the fluorescent bulb usually needs a ballast to start the gases inside of this type. You can purchase ballast’s that just screw into the receptacle.
