Would you use oak or teak flooring for a 1917 Craftsman home?
Question : Would you use oak or teak flooring for a 1917 Craftsman home?
We understand that original craftsman homes used Oak flooring. We’d like to keep the home looking and feeling original, but we love teak flooring. Would it ruin the feeling of an authentic craftsman home to use a warm/medium deep toned teak instead of oak? The teak we’re looking at is called Asian Teak and has red tones in it.

if you like teak, then by all means use. with a natural color stain it is nice. or use a darker stain to get that warn, cozy and welcome feeling.
.I’ve been a designer for many years the oak would be more durable but the teak is one of the most beautiful of all the woods bottom line do what makes you happy after all it’s your House.
