Would you use oak or teak flooring for a 1917 Craftsman home?

I have installed many oak floors as well as teak, and i have fallen in love with teak. After building custom teak furniture for bathrooms, saunas, and luxury boats i came to realize how beautiful and versatile teak can be. Most asian teak come from myanmar and is referred to as Burmese teak. It is much better than plantation teak grown in costa rica. Teak is much more resistant to bugs, mold, mildew, and general rot associated with oak, pine and so forth. This is because it grown in very sandy soil which gives the wood a very high silica content. Teak is not only prized for its resistant properties but its stunning colors that range from light brown, dark mahogany colors, and red tones. The grain is often marbled to combine all of these colors. And I think it would greatly compliment your 1917 craftsmen home rather than ruin the authentic feel, not to mention you guys love it so definitely go with the asian teak.
