my wife had bought some crappy 2nd quality tiles from god knows where because they were half price pieces of shit, the tile spacers saved the day i didnt have the heart to tell her how bad the tiles were but she thinks they look great because the eye and brain are being fooled to think they are square. some times the til spacer would fall rigt of the wall but because spacers averaged out the differance it look right.

folks your doing a two thousand dollar tile job, dont skip on a 5 dollar bag of tile spacers, they do more than space a tile, the automatically average the differances in tile size giving the apparence of a perfect space. i use them for the first time and they are amasing i never tile without them again. you sill have to run the original chalk line but thats not the point.

@steveobrien1000
yeah f the tiles r made poorly, meaning they’r sizey by a mil or 2, spacers r a joke 2 use
but f they’r the same, its ok 2 use spacers, thats f u cant equaly measure the space btween each tile just by useing your eyes.
as 4 buttering the backs, u dont realy need 2
wen its porcelin or ceramics, only wen its like on this video, which means his floor prep wasnt 100% flat in areas
but 4 stone or marble its a good idea.
and yeah, bin the gloves, u cant feel your work with those on. -

If you use this video as a reference for your home project it will most likely be fubar from the get go.I have to agree with jocky102,everything about this video is wrong.Some tile setters may not agree with me but YOU DON’T USE SPACERS ON A FLOOR TILE INSTALLATION.He’s spreading out way too much mud,its going to dry before he sets the tile.Allways backbutter no matter whats being installed.Too many things wrong to mention with this video.And those big blue rubber gloves are rediculous.Cheers.

pause the video @ 14 seconds and look how uneven and badly layed the mosaic tiles are,….. i would fucking slap myself if i layed tiles like that, and NOT pay someone if they layed them like this….just as well im a professional tile setter and critical of my own work, im my own worst nightmare when it comes for picking up mistakes…… these fuckers could learn more than a thing or 2 from me
