Am retiling shower wall. Need to cut holes in it for the fixtures.?

Question : Am retiling shower wall. Need to cut holes in it for the fixtures.?
I know that I can use a masonary bit for smaller holes, but need 11/8″ for the shower fixtures. Is there a hole saw that I can get for this size?

Like Rick said you could also use a roto zip

You could go to your local home improvement store and buy the proper sized hole saw, or you could could cut the tile in half and then use the nippers to remove the proper amount of material and then place it around the pipe. You would have a grout line through the tile but it would get the job done.

You can use a hole saw,rotozip or a wetsaw to remove unwanted protions. Tile nippers really help also.

Go to Lowe’s they sell a tool that looks like a coping saw blade but is a cable made for cutting tile,you drill a small hole and slide the cable through, then just start cutting. Roto zips break more tiles, the blade is too fast, there is no water, and the cutting tool is not stable due to it’s small diameter, we have a Lowe’s in my area that will actually cut it for you if it is only one or two pieces. Give your nearest one a call. They sell ceramic hole saws in all sizes, but they get expensive the bigger they are.

Home Depot sells a carbide hole saw in that size.
