Where is the best place to buy hardwood flooring? (i.e. lumbar liquidators, home depot, etc.)?
Question : Where is the best place to buy hardwood flooring? (i.e. lumbar liquidators, home depot, etc.)?
I want to buy some reasonably priced hardwood flooring. I have seen the commercials for National Floors Direct and read all of the complaints against them, but i have also seen the commercials for Lumbar Liquidators which i haven’t heard any complaints about. Should i look in to them or should i go to Home Depot, Lowes, etc… what’s the cheapest…

I work at Lowes and sometimes we have flooring on clearance it just depends on the day. So, you might have to call or have a “look see”. However, we DO price match and give an extra 10% off competitor but, it has to be an exact in-stock item…. I’ve heard good things about Lumbar Liquidators but, also don’t forget to look at Mom & Pop flooring stores.. .They need to be competitive in the economy too and they may have more leverage in giving deals if they are privately owned/operated.

Home Depot and Lowes are going to have national brands such as Shaw and Mohawk, Armstrong and Bruce. Lumber Liquidators is going to have private labeled hardwood floors such as Bella Wood that is made in China. Either way, all these places will have low prices.
Are you looking for Solid Hardwood flooring or engineered? If you are looking for solid flooring, the Online Floor Store has some good deals and free shipping. Monster Wood and Fantastic-Floors have great engineered pricing from the ads I just saw.

It depends on what you want– cheap wood from china with all the problems, than cheap from your choices are ok. How about hardwood grown in North America made in to flooring in the USA. For cheap wood flooring , yes you can get it cheaper at the bib box place. The quality of the over all wood is never the same I ve seen as if you get it from a local ” mom and pop” store.. Try watching for close outs at the smaller store or sales since they sometimes get a pallet load and sell it at lower prices since they get a lower price.
If you have a lot to do, say 6/7 hundred s/f, ask the mom and pop place about a pallet price since they ll get it at certain footage’s.
Careful you get what you pay for, cheapest isnt always the best ,,… GL
