Question : Would you like to get this for Christmas?
Trying to think of Christmas gifts to give to our employees. I was thinking of these towel warmers (along with other items). We live in the North East US and it gets quite cold! Several employees have pools or like to go camping too so we thought this might be a good idea (can use it for drying clothes, warming clothes, etc). Any feedback??

We are having a Christmas Party – all of our employees and one guest are invited to murder mystery dinner theater at a waterfront restaurant in December. Expensive party! But our employees are worth it.

We are also giving monetary bonuses.

We give all employees gifts as well. We give them a Gift Cert. to a grocery store (used to give Turkeys but everyone made fun of them – kind of ungrateful – so we give a gift cert. instead so they can buy whatever they want – turkey, ham, roast, etc).

Along with that we do a gift of some kind. One year we made up gift baskets with all kinds of breakfast goodies and such. One year we gave fleece throws from LL Bean with our company name on them along with other stuff. We give them company jackets and sweatshirts throughout the year anyway so we don’t want to do that. We’re stuck! We’ve done all kinds of things for years and we’re out of ideas

No! I would rather have a bonus check to buy what I like, or need. Also, what about an employee holiday party?

I own my own business, and I have a few gifts to give away as well.
Personally, I would not like a towel warmer, thats not a good idea.
Warm scarves are practical as well, but nobody would like that either.
What about a spiffy sweater with a company logo?
We are in Central Florida, it gets a little chilly in winter here, heck maybe I will do that as well.
Of course, we won’t need an overcoat, lucky us!
Though I miss winter, a little bit. Miss wearing a nice trenchcoat.

I got one of those as a gift and used it for a couple of months and then got tired of it and it looked kind of ugly and took up too much space in my bathroom so I gave it to the goodwill. Sharper Image.com has a lot of interesting gadgets. Maybe something smaller would be better. One of the gifts that I have appreciated most was a pair of binoculars with a digital camera in them. Most everybody has binoculars but not the ones with the camera. They are handy when you go to a concert or at a ball game or even nature walking. I don’t know how much they cost.

I’d like to get the gift of people reading the answers they comment on – i didn’t say right-wingers invented the term, “happy holidays” – i said they brought us ‘the controversy’,’ trying to make tolerance and attempts to bridge distances between peoples into an attack on christmas. and they did do this despicable thing.

First of all let me say WOW ! way to go… you sound like the kind of employer I am. Keep the employees happy and everyone wins !! * high five *

We give trips…. whether to a nearby casino for the weekend or a weekend trip to vegas, or a spa in the south when the weather is cold up here.

The “warmer” is a neat idea but like said earlier on this page, I think it would wear off and people would unload it and then you wasted all that money. You could put out a voting area within your business… have people cast their votes / write down their ideas etc…. on what they would like and you will know first hand what it is they would thoroughly enjoy! Either way you seem to be doing well… keep up the good work as a top notch employer !!

Let me know where you are in case I ever need a job…hee hee ! : )

Lets see you’re giving them a fun expensive dinner party and bonuses.
Isn’t that enough?
I know you said they’re great employees but maybe saving some money to give them surprises throughout the year is a better idea than to lump it all into one season.
I’d much rather a company spend wisely than to splurge and go out of business!
Who pays their insurance premiums? If they pay a large percentage maybe you can pay a month or two of that in Jan and February to help them recover from their Christmas spending!

Hampers containing gourmet foods that you can’t afford to buy yourself are nice for the Holidays.
How about a gift certificate for a night on the town or a night of entertainment (ie theatre tickets,hockey/basketball tickets)

For a small gift go with the warmer (good idea) or have sweatshirts w/your logo printed and declare Fridays a in office logo sweatshirt day:) We did this and it worked great for moral…on top of the $ $ bonus.

How about including a logo towel w/the warmer also??!!!

We did Popcorn factory and swiss colony also one year:)
