yes, as a matter of fact i do have quite a bit of experience with riccar vacuums. i hate to be the bearer of bad news and rain on your parade, but this was a very horrendous experience for me. my mother bought be one for christmas and i was excited. i took it home and started vacuuming with it….everything seemed ok. then, all of a sudden i lost control of the vacuum and it began to roll backwards fiercely. it rolled right over my foot. now, i wasnt wearing any shoes and it sucked my foot into the steel brushroll. blood went everywhere. being the forward thinker i am, i jerked the cord from the wall and it cut off, but when it did, the roller lurched and my foot became lodged in the roller. the teeth of the steel brushroll trapped my foot in the vacuum. i couldnt move, and i was the only one at home. after about an hour of agony and pain, i was able to work most of my foot out of the roller, all except for my little toe. fortunately, i always carry a pocketknife with me. in a moment of despair, i took out my pocketknife and began hacking away at my entangled phlangee. the pain of the hacking was intense, but the great relief i felt after i cut my baby toe off and was free was even greater. after i was free, i seared my wound shut with a hot iron. needless to say, i returned the vacuum and have never used a riccar vacuum since.
