First Light Bulb history is noted. The discovery of the bulbs has a history of crossing directly from the early 1800′s. In this reason, candles, gas lamps and oil lanterns used as a source of light. In 1809 Humphrey Davy, an English scientist of his journey to discover the source of light bulbs. A high-power battery has been used by him for triggering the current among the 2 strips of charcoal. The current through these strips in the production of the first arc lamp helped.
Then in 1820 Warren De la Rue made another attempt for the production of the bulb. An electric was led by a platinum coil in a vacuum tube. The higher melting point of platinum allows the operation to be carried out at high temperatures. Although this was an effective design, the high cost of platinum made it impractical for commercial use.
Then in 1860, Sir Joseph Wilson Swan, an English physicist, invented an electric light that was as durable as practicable. He discovered that the filament of the carbon paper a good job, but they burn very quickly. In 1878 he gave a demonstration of his newly invented electric lamp in England.
In 1877, Charles Brush created carbon arcs for lighting of public space in the U.S.. Thomas Edison experimented with a number of filaments, to find out that the right material will last for a long enough time and heat. He invented a filament of carbon and oxygen in a lighted bulb in 1879. But burn the bulb no more than about 40 hours. He gradually produced a light bulb that burned for 1,500 hours.
This lamp has been improved later by Lewis Howard Latimer. He used a carbon filament in the bulb. In 1882 he patented, and formulated a process for the manufacture of carbon filaments. Then later, Willis R. Whitney in 1903 discovered a treatment for this filament. This treatment stopped the darkening of the light bulb from the inside when it glows. And finally, William. D. Coolidge finally discovered the tungsten filament that lasted for a very long compared to all previously filaments for the manufacture of the bulb used. And this was the first light bulb revolutionized the world and in use today.
This is, years after years, the first light bulb was finally discovered and brought into existence by progression after successive years by different researchers. Can you imagine how your life would have been before the invention of the first light bulb. Now it is so easy and convenient, just to be on the switch mutualise and you get to the light.
You should know that took the first light bulbs, invented about 150 hours and ten years later, Thomas Edison discovered a light bulb that lasted for about 1,200 hours. Today, more than an average light bulb lasts about 1,500 hours.
