you just cant beat the new technology these newer wood stoves have. they use less wood and produce more heat. i encourge everyone to invest in one, and scrap those old “fishers, earth, franklin, etc..” stoves. i want a equinox, hoping to get a used one or wait until the price comes down. I currently run morso 3610.

Just love our new equinox, its all broken in and burning great.
Had the house up to 90 degrees at bed time. woke up it was 74. great stove. this was a test fully loaded.

I rarely have to clean the glass on my Mansfield. The cast Iron Stoves seem to blast you out of the house with the up and down temps. While the Soapstone stoves keep and even temp all through the night. When i wake up the top stones are still around 300 degrees.

Cool. Ive been looking for a video of one of these for a long time. We are having one installed in 3 weeks. does it really put out some heat for a long time? thanks for the reply.

You are correct – this is the Hearthstone Equinox, not the Mansfield. The graphic designer (me) mislabeled it. Thanks for pointing that out!

this looks like the equinox judging by the wood handles and the size. also looks like 8 inch stove pipe??

The Mansfield is somewhere between the Princess and King (by Blaze King) in size of the firebox. It will hold the bed of coals for a long time because of the soapstone’s unique ability to store and retain heat. We have been in the stove business for 28 years, and the Mansfield has the cleanest running glass we have ever seen. It is also non-catalytic. It has a “quick start” system (a “jet” of pre-heated air rushes in at the bottom of the bottom, which makes for super easy startup.

There are several reasons you could be having trouble. The 3 most common reasons are 1. Wet wood 2. A chimney that’s not airtight and 3. Closing the air control too soon.

I recently installed a hearthstone mansfield in my house. It does not seem to heat as well as the old steel fischer we had. How much space do you heat with yours? Ours only seems to heat about 500 sq feet and our floorplan is open.
