Why is the lighting has chanderler in my house make me look a little strange?

If you want the physics reason: it’s because the light rays are reflecting off of your face/body at weird angles, making you look different.
But the beauty reason is because the lighting is just plain bad. There are alot of situations in which you find yourself in bad lighting.
The most reliable lighting out be outside. Usually in direct sunlight, so all of your features are clearly visible.
The next best would be bathroom, because bathroom light fixtures usually are specifically made to flatter your skin and your features!
