Mariachi music – A Cinco de Mayo Holiday Tradition

Cinco de Mayo, a wonderful holiday celebrating the independence of Mexico and Mexican pride, each year takes place on 5 May Mexicans and Americans come together to Cinco de Mayo with Mexican traditions and festive evening program. Whatever you are not on Cinco de Mayo, more likely than you hear mariachi music, plan to celebrate.

Mariachi music is one of the best known of the Cinco de Mayo tradition. Mariachi is the most common species of Mexican folk music.
