How long do bathroom/kitchen trends last without looking dated?

I’m about to remodel bathroom and kitchen and I like the granite counters, stainless steel look, the new bathroom modern sinks and furniture. I also love the mosaic tile trend. How long do you think these updates will last without looking dated? Any suggestions to avoid looking dated too soon.

this should last anywhere between 8 to 10 years.

I would think that bathroom renovations and kitchen renovations can last up to 10-15 years at most. Suggestion, go for quality that will last, don’t go for cheap services.

Stick with non-dated deco. Like use normal tiles (mosaic tiles suck.. i really hate them… they’re annoying to clean and even more annoying to look at.. can u say vomit?) our bathroom has normal sized tiles, white with very light paint brush stroke like blue, and our tub/toilet/sink were light blue too so it looked hot… it would still be hot if we didnt have to break into the walls to fix pipes.

I’ve seen mosaic tiled bathrooms/kitchens and they make me want to stab myself in they eye. you get sick of them after a while.. we used mosaic tiles in outer hallway, and let me tell you, if i can take a hammer and start smashing something, those would be the first to go.

stainless steel and granite counters look hot!!! they wont ever be outdated, we’r going forward into time, steel is the wave of the future!! (okay maybe i’m a little excited) but imagine granite/marble tiles on the floor of your kitchen… stainless steel appliances… and matching kitchen aide electronics… cherry wood cabinets… i dunno bout you but it soothes me!

point in the matter is >> 6×6 tiles// 12×12 tiles // marble/granite/stainless steel… won’t ever be outdated.. mosaics will. (i get shivers just thinking about mosaic tiles)

Stone counters and stainless steel appliances are going to be around for a long time so I wouldn’t stress over that. If you are asking about the bathroom bowls that sit on top of the sinks, they first appeared about 14 years ago and are still going strong with even more choices than ever. Mosaics can be very particular to the owner. I would go for a more simple and less patterned look of specialty tiles for back splashes or bath walls. Mosaics can be very busy looking and not appeal to everyone.

Good ones can last about 10 years, give or take a few. If you really want a good toilet for the bathroom, I’d suggest a Toto toilet with a seat warmer and self cleans itself And if you need suggestions for sinks, I really like some of the ones made by Blanco. Good luck and enjoy!

I think that COLOR is the most dating factor. Be conservative with that and use replaceable items like towels and rugs to highlight a brighter color scheme you might want. Granite and stainless steel will probably always be timeless!
